Hello :)
The problem I’m having isn’t actually infection/virus based at all, but I think it might be within your speciality hence why I’m posting here. I recently stayed in a Hotel & used their WiFi connection. This WiFi connection featured a login page where I had to enter a supplied username and password before I was allowed access to the Internet.
Unfortunately, I have now come home and this login page still shows every time I open Internet Explorer. It very quickly redirects to my normal homepage (Google), but there is still this brief flash of the login page each time I open a new window. My homepage is still set correctly inside the Internet Options dialogue, and the hosts file is also fine (although that seemed unlikely to be the cause as it would require admin privileges & a proper installer to set, but I checked anyway).
What other techniques exist for redirecting a homepage in this way? Do you have any tools which might be able to root it out?
Thank you.
Richard
