Well, after a year of training, and an especially gruesome past few months to push the envelope to be more than prepared, yesterday I swore into the US Army. My MOS (31E) is not related to tech at all, as I ultimately wanted to get away from it for misc. reasons. In school I was pursuing a criminal justice degree as I was working on NYPD, but halfway I decided to take the jump and go for military police. 31E is MP in military based prisons, so I can be stationed all over which is exciting. I originally was hoping for 31B (basic MP), but I scored high enough for 31E and it's more lined with my personal interests, so that's the MOS I chose.

I just wanted to stop by and say hello to all my friends here, considering I ship off in January. Keep the BSOD fight going strong in my indefinite absence :smile9:

Congrats on deciding a direction to go in life.

I think you will find that your experience with technology will help you regardless of what direction your life takes you.

Thanks for stopping by and keeping us updated :grin1:

Well, of course, I would rather you had joined the Air Force ;) but I am grateful for your service, just the same.

And of course, you will never get rich in the military, but the skills and experience you will gain, especially in leadership, will pay big dividends for the rest of your life. I would encourage you to take advantage of the tremendous education benefits the military has to offer and note your basic training and your tech schools will go far in completing the criteria for your 2 year AS degree.
