The town where I live traditionally has two-day events with both food and crafts vendors on the Town Hall grounds, a street dance with a live band on the 3rd, a parade on the 4th, games and events for kids in the afternoon and fireworks in the evening. It is very popular with people come from surrounding towns to participate, with the fireworks display the most popular with just one street having cars parked at least 3/4 mile away. Fortunately, all we need do is walk out our front door to the end of the driveway and we can see the distant display over the trees.

From my apartment, I can see 2 different fireworks shows, and hear them if I'm not watching!
