excel 2016 file

I work with excel files every day on my work. Couple days ago I added new data to .xlsx file. Only today, I decided to open it and application viewed - File format not valid. I tried to open it on another computer but without results. Can someone advise me what to do?

I'm still using Excel 2007 but try going to the Windows start menu and enter File History in the search box. Then click on Restore Personal Files and navigate to where you keep that spreadsheet. HOPEFULLY, you can find a previous version that is not corrupt. You may have lost a couple days worth of data, but that's better than the whole SS.

Pretty sure that is the same feature only in W10, it is now called File History.
