Step#1 - SFC Scan Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each sfc /scannow Wait for this to finish before you continue copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post. Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

This time it succeeded and the updates were "successful". I have to believe that installing the files in the package folder which we did was what Windows was waiting for. So my question is how did those files disappear? I had the correct folder C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages but the Packages folder was empty before I copied the files into it. Anyway I did the last thing you had asked me to do and the cbs.txt file is included.View attachment 19313 Please let me know if there is any reason to continue with this. I am happy that my problem has finally been solved and thank you very much for your help. foxx

It's a temporary/working location that we place corrupted files so that SURT can pick them up and put them in the appropriate locations. I checked your most recent log and all looks good. Take care.
