For the last few months each evening when I shut down the computer it tries to update the Security Updates for Windows
X64 and next day I receive the same "failure" notice for 4 updates. The error code has been the same for them all.
800B0100. I have done just about everything that others have done to try to get these updates to finish successfully.
To date, nothing has worked. Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Which set of instructions should I follow? I ran the Sysnative BSOD collection app and have a zip file in my documents folder. I am attaching it via the clip. View attachment 19256
Please let me know if this is enough. Thanks for your help.

Have tried to send the Perfmon.html file to you but received the following error Perfmon.html your file of 3.24mb exceeds the forum limit of 97.7 kb for this filetype. Is there another way. Can I put it in my One Drive folder and send you the link?

Is there something wrong that I have not heard whether fixing this problem is possible? I am hoping for a reply to tell me at least that someone is willing to help. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative. Sorry for the delay. Nothing is wrong. There were more threads than helpers but I'm available to assist you now. Please start with the following.

Step#1 - System Update Readiness Tool (SUR)
1. Download and run the following file.
2. When it asks you if you wish to install, please answer yes. Note: It could take 15 minutes or more to run. Please don't cancel.
3. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running.
4. Please attach the log from the following location. C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

Please do the following.

Step#1 - SFCFix Script
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please

Step#2 - System Update Readiness Tool (SUR)

The SUR tool has been displaying the same splash screen which says "The updates are being installed, initializing installation" but no progress is displayed at all on the progress bar. Ill wait and see if anything happens, but it has been over a half an hour and nothing has happened. I'm sending you the zipped file of CheckSUR that was produced the last time I ran CheckSUR. Nothing has changed since that time.

I've seen this tool take hours to run before but if you say it still says initializing installation there likely is something wrong. If nothing happens soon, you can reboot your machine and then re-run tool.

Yes it's readable. Please do the following.

I had you do it again because it didn't work the first time. I wanted to see if it was repeatable and it was. I'm not sure why the file name is SFCFix.zip.zip however. I attached as SFCFix.zip.

Code:
Using .zip script file at C:\Users\David\Desktop\[COLOR=#ff0000]SFCFix.zip.zip [/COLOR][0]

Let's see if you can just do it manually. The automated way doesn't appear to be working.

Step#1 - Fix Corrupt/Missing Files
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
  1. Please download the attached file, Packs.zip and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Right-click on the file and select Extract All...
  3. Tick the box labelled Show extracted files when complete then click Extract
  4. A window will open showing a folder named Packages
  5. Open the Packages folder and copy the files into the following folder. If the Packages folder doesn't exist within Servicing you will need to create it.
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages
  6. Run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again.
  7. When the SURT finishes installing, zip up and attach the following log file:
    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
