hi all:

you guys helped me out in the past and one more time please. i have inherited a W7E SPI laptop. SW is activated and shows Genuine from MS. I am experiencing errors 800737124 and 80070663 when Windows updates. I am prepared to do a "R" from a W7U disk since so many files are termed "not repairable". Running sfc /scannow shows no corruption. SURT tool does not fix errors plus numerous "FixIt" from MS. I have enclosed the newCBS.zip file for the CBS log for your review. I am in a position to contribute again as your service/skills are very good. Thx again..

Hello again :)

Every so often, the CBS.log file grows too large, and is cut into an old (persisted) logfile, and a new empty logfile. Your CBS.log has just been persisted, so there is no data in it. I need to access the old logfiles. Can you please upload the entire CBS folder.

Thank you.

Richard

reply: error - 80073712 and 80070663

hi richard:

received your msg for CBS.log being too large and persistent files being created. I had difficulty creating CBS log folder as a zipped file...just showed being uploaded and nothing, perhaps too large, its 16.8M.

The attached sur.zip file contains some good info I feel and may ba substitute for the CBS file. Lots of files are not repairable Probably a "R" repair is needed from a w7U disk....what do you think???

thx....abro89

hi richard:

sorry to keep EMAIL'g you. Give me your EMAIL address and I will post CBS.logs (persistent and regular) on DROPBOX. The public folder no longer exists for acct's created after Oct 2012. The CBS.zip folder you need to review is 16.8 M and will not become attached in the SYSNATIVE forum page for some reason.

I have already sent you SURT folder (zipped) for review and shows corrupt files in W7E

It looks like a reload of W7E according to GOOGLE search for errors 80073712 and 80070663 ( these are new errors after running SURT). Laptop was received as loaded image so I don't have disks for W7E (ksm client) and activated legally.

Thx....abro89

Hi abro89,

Alarm bells do go off in our heads when we see those error codes, but in some cases it's a 2 minute fix and in others it's time to reinstall Windows - hope for the best, prepare for the worst :) This will fix the errors in your CheckSUR log and upload all of your logs to us.

Hi abro89,

Sorry for the delay!

As you can see my fix has cleared the CheckSUR log of errors which is great, so onto your next thread!

Tom

P.S. Thank you for your donation - we are still a relatively small site and have high server costs, so your donation is greatly appreciated!
