Hi,

I'm getting the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION BSoD, i'm noticing that a lot of people using Windows 8 are getting this issue particularly on this forum. Unfortunately regardless of all the steps I have tried and found on forums (disabling services, drivers..) I cannot resolve this BSoD so I was hoping that you guys could help me out.

Thanks in advance.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Arg3: 0000000000000010, Reserved
Arg4: fffff8a000ab1e71, Reserved
The reference count of an object is illegal for the current state of the object.
Each time a driver uses a pointer to an object the driver calls a kernel routine
to increment the reference count of the object. When the driver is done with the
pointer the driver calls another kernel routine to decrement the reference count.
Drivers must match calls to the increment and decrement routines. This bugcheck
can occur because an object's reference count goes to zero while there are still
open handles to the object, in which case the fourth parameter indicates the number
of opened handles. It may also occur when the object?s reference count drops below zero
whether or not there are open handles to the object, and in that case the fourth parameter
contains the actual value of the pointer references count.

Damn you got hit by Sandy? Feel sorry for you man, I was watching it live on Weather channel, anyway thanks for the advice, I have disabled some of the drivers you suggested but I haven't uninstalled them so I'll try that and post back the news.

Thanks.

No BSoDs so far, your advice seems to have worked
