I've had this issue for over a year. It's driving me crazy, and today its become much much worse. Video and audio will randomly start to stutter. I clean re-installed Windows, put in a new RAM module etc.
I've finally figured out it is a DPC latency issue.

Attached is the screenshot of Latency Mon and the file requested.

· OS - Windows 10 x64 ?
· What was original OS? Windows 10

· Hardware age 15 months for everything besides GPU (23 months) and RAM (3 months)
· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? Yes, multiple times.
· CPU - AMD Ryzen 1600X
· Video Card: EVGA GTX 1060 6GB
· MotherBoard - Biostar B350 GTN
· Power Supply - brand & wattage (if laptop, skip this one)
· Desktop
Ram: G.Skill F4-2666C15S-8GVR Ripjaws V 8GB
Storage: 238GB SanDisk SD8SB8U256G1122 (SATA (SSD))
2794GB TOSHIBA HDWD130 (SATA ) (HDD)

Check for a BIOS update from your system manufacturer.

Make sure that your video drivers are updated for your NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060.

Make sure that your audio drivers are updated as well.

There is an app running with the name "Memory Compression" -
Code:
Memory Compression 2580 Services 0 77,616 K Unknown
NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM 0:00:04 N/A
Any idea what it is?

Did you install it (maybe some type of system optimization app?)

Do you have a 3rd party firewall installed or an "Internet Security" app?

I'm very surprised to hear that the problem exists when running in safemode.

This would tend to indicate that the actual problem lies with some type of "unknown hardware fault or failure" vs. a software or driver problem.

Did you build the system or purchase it as an OEM system (Original Equip Mfg - Dell, HP, etc...)?

Regards. . .

Hi

Thank you so much for the reply. I realised I posting my question in the wrong subforum, so I reposted it here: High Latency and DPC issues storport.sys - Would greatly appreciate if you could take a look at the other files I posted there, as well as my replies to another forum member.

With regards to your questions:

1. I have updated my BIOS, Nvidia and sound drivers to their latest versions
2. I have absolutely no idea what that app is - I reset Windows today and all my programs were deleted, and the problem continues to persist.
3. I have no third party internet security or firewall installed
4. I built the system myself.

I was told that the storeport.sys DPC latency error I was receiving could be due to my Toshiba Hard drive, so I removed the SATA and Power cables, and the issue continued. I am not sure if this means that perhaps my SSD is faulty? I also received a dxgkrnl.sys error on Latency Monitor too.

I used Safe mode with networking - if the issue is a faulty LAN driver, could that perhaps cause the latency issues to occur in Safe Mode?

Thank you so much for your help once again :smile9:
