Skype says: Cannot load DNSAP.dll and chrome says DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN. Please help I'm new to computers so please describe what i have to do easier. They also told me to do a sfc /snannow on cmd but I get an message saying Windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation.

Please help me by replying to this thread I can also give you more details of what's happening

Hi Davidhart711. :welcome:
Hence, is the problem skype (that doesn't work)?
Or what?
And if it's skype, did you already try to reinstall it?
If no, you could try now.
If yes, right-click the windows button at bottom-left corner, click command prompt (admin), a black screen should appear, write in it sfc /scannow, press enter on your keyboard, wait 15-50 minutes whilst the task completes, post its final result here.
In the meanwhile, you can read Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files (click).
Finally, if the result will be Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations., it should mean you have no problems (from SFC point of view).
If the result will be Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log., it should mean you had problems but they have been corrected.
If you have a different result than those two above, probably this topic will be moved to the windows update sub-forum.

:wave:

Thanks for the reply but when I do sfc /snannow, it stops at 24% and it says Windows resource protection cannot preform the requested operation.

I did run as admin, also I'm using vipre for anti virus. I don't know my firewall I use the one that came with Windows.

Could you uninstall vipre and enable windows defender?
At least until the problem isn't solved.
After that, re-try the SFC command.
If it doesn't complete yet, report it here and please open a new topic on the windows update sub-forum.

Where do I enable Windows defender and I'm scared to uninstall vipre because I won't be able to go back on the Internet and re install it if it's not fixed because it won't let me go on the Internet.

I think it should enable itself, it should show a notification on the notification area, just click it and enable it.
I don't get what you mean with "I won't be able to go back on the Internet and re install it if it's not fixed because it won't let me go on the Internet".
Now you are on internet with that machine, or not?

I'm connected to the Internet but when I try to go online it says DNS_PROBE_FINSIHED_NXDOMAIN do it's not letting me go online I am using my phone to
message here.

Ok, before doing what I've written in the ninth post, try first this method (Justin Herbst's post and, if that won't work, try Negeen E.'s post): https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/nanfBxleQpw
If this work, i.e. internet works, re-try the SFC tool.
If the sfc tool still stops, then try the ninth post.
If internet doesn't work and you prefer to not uninstall VIPRE, please wait someone of the sysnative's staff.

It seems you should also reset winsock and tcp/ip using NETSH, but I'd rather prefer you expect someone of Sysnative Staff.
Good luck!

Can you lead me to how to delete win shock and tcp and that stuff if that doesn't work I will wait for a staff.

Hi Davidhart711 :)

My name is Aura and I'll be assisting you with your issue. Even thought your SFC scan stops at a certain %, I would like you to run it until it stops and upload the CBS.log for me after please.

System File Checker (SFC)
Follow the instructions below to run a SFC scan on your system and to provide the CBS log in your next reply;
  • On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select
    Spcusrh.png
    Run as Administrator
  • On Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • Enter the command below and press on Enter;
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
    Note: There's a space between "sfc" and "/scannow";
  • Once the scan is complete, enter the command below and press on Enter
    Code:
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  • A file called cbs.txt will have appeared on your Desktop. Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;
Note: Please note that the CBS.log is volatile, which means that if you don't upload it after the SFC scan is completed, it won't have the information from the scan anymore. So archive it and upload it as soon as you can.

One problem, I'm using my phone for this so how can I share the cbs file on my desktop to you I cannot use the Internet as that is also a problem.

You can move the file on your phone and upload it from there :)
