Glued to this broke computer
Hi there,

I'm on a different computer, one that I got so I could work on the other one. I think that it has the same issue with the KB3022345. I have uninstalled it & the other 2 as well,(or I think I have). It didn't help far as I could tell. I have tried all different kinds of things,System Restore? I think it's called, where u go back to a certain point & not lose ur files. I have done that a few times & a few other things I can't remember. I've been trying almost 3 weeks to get this thing fixed. :banghead::banghead: I am a computer dumb dumb:eek:, I need help please. I would greatly appreciate it!!

Thank you so much!!

Hi, Cheryl. Below is a copy of the instructions I provided to your inquiry on the Sysnative Facebook page:

This is Corrine, one of the Sysnative Forum Admins. I located your post on the forums at https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...rvice-stopped-working-no-internet-access.html.

In order to receive assistance, the experts will need to see the logs requested in the Posting Instructions topic at https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/4736-windows-update-forum-posting-instructions.html. Since you do not have Internet access on the problem computer, you will need to download SFCFix to the working computer and transfer it by USB stick or CD/DVD to the problem computer. After running SFCFix and creating the zip file of the CBS log, transfer both back to the working computer. From the working computer, add the logs to the post you created yesterday, linked above.

I copied the SFCFix onto a disk & ran it into my broke computer but I can't get it to burn it to a disk for me. The SCFfix didn't take long to run,I've been trying to figure out how to make that stupid computer to let me burn the results so I could show ya'll!! GRRRRR...Any suggestions PLSS?
Oh it said it had some corruptions that couldn't be fixed automatically. Seek addvice from helper or sysnative.com. I can type out the whole tyhing if u like,it's not long. Also still have same problem. Thank you guys!

Good job, Cheryl! Now, go to the computer that isn't working and export the CBS log:

  1. On Windows 8, press the Windows key, type This PC, and press Enter.
On Windows Vista/7, click the Start button
    StartButton_16x16.gif
    then click Computer.
  2. Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder.
  3. Find and double click on the Logs folder.
  4. Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy.
  5. Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS.
  6. Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder.
  7. A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created.

After that is completed, copy the CBS.zip file to your working computer and then attach it to your next reply here.

  1. Click the paper clip icon in the topic toolbar which will open a new window.
  2. Click Add Files in the upper right corner
  3. Click Select Files
  4. Navigate to your desktop and select the saved zip file (i.e., C:\Users\{Your Username}\Desktop\CBS.zip)
  5. The attached file will be highlighted and have a check mark in the box.
  6. Click Done.

You did it correctly, Cheryl. The log is attached. Someone will be along to help you but they do try to stick with "first come, first served". You know how to find me if you get stuck again.

Did you try both wifi + Ethernet to connect to the Internet?

Does either one work?

I need to obtain certain system information & the easiest way is for you to run te BSOD Posting Instructions -

https://www.sysnative.com/forums/bs...ng-instructions-windows-10-8-1-8-7-vista.html

I can make it much simpler for you than going through all of the instructions.

You'll need a USB stick to copy a file over to your other ("broken") system.

Download and save this file to the USB stick - https://www.sysnative.com/apps/SysnativeBSODCollectionApp.exe

Then copy that file to the Documents folder of the broken system.

Double-click on that file on the broken system. It will take several minutes to run.

Then go to Documents folder on the broken system, look for this file - & copt it to the USB stick -

SysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip

Then reply to this post and attach that file to your post.

I won't be able to get through all of the info until late tomorrow.

Hi Cheryl -

I'm from the Windows Update team. Sorry for the delay. The two corruptions that are showing can safely be ignored and are not contributing to your issues. These are a known issue and Microsoft is working on a resolution but they don't impact the operation of your machine. More info on this below.

Code:
CORRUPT: C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-u..ed-telemetry-client_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.18869_none_fde7d5f71db043ad\utc.app.json

This update contains the following two manifests that are occasionally updated by the Diagnostic Tracking Service:

telemetry.ASM-WindowsDefault.json
utc.app.json

The two files are marked as static files in the update. When an advanced user runs the System File Checker Tool (sfc.exe), the files are unintentionally flagged as corrupted. There is no impact or corruption on a device that is running this update, and this issue will be fixed in a later service update.

To verify that there aren't any other Windows Update issues I'll have you run me a couple logs. Before we do that however, can you please uninstall your AVG Antivirus? If you are unsure how to get to Add/Remove programs to uninstall you can review the information here. Once it is uninstalled, please do the following. There's a chance that uninstalling AVG may fix your networking issue as well.

Step#1 - System Update Readiness Tool (SUR)
1. Download and run the following file.
2. When it asks you if you wish to install, please answer yes. Note: It could take 15 minutes or more to run. Please don't cancel.
3. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running.
4. Please attach the log from the following location. C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.
