Hi guys,

I'm on a Windows 8.1 machine and ran sfc /scannow and got some errors that couldn't be repaired. Checked the log and it was chock full of "[DIRSD OWNER WARNING]" and "Ignoring duplicate ownership for directory".

Ran SFCfix and got:

Code:
AutoAnalysis::
CORRUPT: C:\WINDOWS\winsxs\amd64_networking-mpssvc-svc_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.16384_none_8ad29b839bd3c40d\FirewallAPI.dll

Hello, and welcome to Sysnative!

My name is Richard and I'll be one of two members working with you on this issue. The other member's username is "Go The Power" and you'll meet him in a little while. He's one of the trainees here, and he'll be working under my direction on your issue. Everyone's got to start somewhere, so they'll be a slight delay between each of his posts. This is so that I can double check all of the fixes prior to submission. I hope that you can understand that this is necessary in order to train new members in the safest possible way.

We'll be back with the first fix as quickly as possible. Thank you very much for your continued patience.

Richard

Hi thanks for the reply,

I can't download the SFCFix.zip. It says the attachment is invalid and please contact the Administrator.

The cbs log was too big to attach (4.8mb), and I ran the SFCFix twice so the log got overwritten but it looks like it successfully copied the files over.

2 documents - Ge.tt

Runnng sfc /scannow now returns this message in the command prompt: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Awesome. What is all the ownership warnings and duplicates? Is there any way to fix all of that?

Hi Sekta

There is no need to worry about those entries they are normal errors that appear inside the CBS.log for very many people. They cause absolutely no problems, so are nothing to be concerned about and do not need fixing.
