[SOLVED] Corrupt CBS Files can't update Windows

I cannot upload several Windows update files. My CBS file is attached, I think.

My name is Richard and I'll be one of two members working with you on this issue. The other member's username is "Go The Power" and you'll meet him in a little while. He's one of the trainees here, and he'll be working under my direction on your issue. Everyone's got to start somewhere, so they'll be a slight delay between each of his posts. Thank you for responding to my thread. The problem still exists. the Internet Explorer 11 and the following KB's won't load or update: 2830477 (Optional), 2931356,2953522,2871997, 2926765,2952664, 2862152, 2847077, and 2868626. I hope this is helpful.

Hello again,

SFCFix didn't quite show the results I was hoping for. What we will do this time is if you can please run SFC /SCANNOW again, once it is completed run SFCFIX straight after.

SFC Scan

Click on the Start

button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

Download SFCFix.exe and save this to your Desktop.
Download the attached SFCFixScript.zip file, and save this to your Desktop.
Save any open documents and close all open windows.
On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFixScript.zip.
Drag the file SFCFixScript.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
SFCFix will now process the script.
Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put tags around the log to break up the text.

Excellent! Please re-run SFC and let me know whether it comes back clean or not. If it doesn't, please upload a new set of CBS logs and we'll go from there.

Hello Richard,

I thought I had responded to your thread but I don't see it. I ran SFC but I forgot/can't find the CBS file to send to you. Sorry. Apparently there are still some errors in the SFC. However, the Windows updates did finally load. So that part is working j think.
I have discovered another problem I cannot create a system image or backup or system restore point. Can you help me with that?

Click Start -> Type in CMD into the search box -> Inside the command window copy and paste the following copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt

Go to your desktop and upload cbs.txt to your next reply.

Hello Go the Power and Richard,

I tried to send you my CBS File and I thought I did but it doesn't appear on the "Reply to Thread" . I hope you got it. I really appreciate all you and Richard have done to help me on this issue. Windows updates finally loaded but the SFC still indicates errors.
I also discovered a new issue. I can't create a System Image, Backup or System Restore point. Can you help with this issue also?

In regards to not being able to create a System restore point what happens when you try?

I sent the CBS File to Dropbox as you requested.

It doesn't matter if I am trying to do a System Image, Backup or Restore Point I get the same message:
"The backup failed."
" A Volume Shadow Copy Service operation failed." "Please check "VSS" and "SPP application event logs for more information. (0x807800A1"
"Additional information:"
A Volume Shadow Copy Service component encountered an unexpected error" "Check the Application event log for more information. (ox80042302"

I'm sorry I don't understand how to do that. The file is in my dropbox but I don't know how to create a link. It gives me an option to enter an email address but that's all I see.

That didn't work

Uploading a file from Dropbox

Log back into Dropbox Here with your account.
Click on Files on the left hand side
- If you have already uploaded your most recent CBS.txt file please go to step 3.
- Too upload CBS.txt click on the page icon in the right hand corner => Choose Files => Map to your desktop and select CBS.txt pres OK => Done
Right click on CBS.txt choose Share Link
On the pop up click on Get Link => This will copy and link into your clipboard.
