First, this is a known outside issue.\n\nSecond, this is a cable connection(40\/2), with Bright House networks.\n\nThird, this problem has been around for 2.5 years.\n\nFourth, I have cable, phone and internet with the same provider.\n\nAfter years of troubleshooting and dozens of techs coming to my house, I was finally able to get the diagnosis I had suspected. They found a problem with the pedestal and some damaged fiber optic line in the run from the node. They say, now, that they have fixed the problem.\n\nWhat was happening; full intermittent connection loss on all services. Extreme lag, while gaming. Degradation of hd channels.\n\nI have not been at home enough, since the problem was "fixed" to determine the quality of repairs. \n\nWhat I want to do is use some type of program to monitor the connection and record it's status. I think I need to minor, ping, jitter, up\/down and connection. Basically, I just want to verify the connection falls within acceptable tolerances.\n\nI was hoping for a program recommendation and how to best use it for monitoring and recording.\n\nThanks.
