Thanks for your quick interest. I forgot to say
I use Windows 7 To address your questions:
Just to be clear, I can surf perfectly to all sites other than yahoo on all my browser.
@
xrobwx71 My host file is empty, except for the commented out lines.
I am not using any software to block domains except for
SpywareBlaster, which I just Updated and I can Disable.
I get no message from the Server when loading a page. It usually just hangs. But after some of the work, I finally got something.
However, in firefox, I got finally Yahoo.com to load, but
without any pictures.
On Firefox, when I tried to load
mail.yahoo.com I got:
"The connection has timed out. The server at mail.yahoo.com is taking too long to respond."
Restarted Firefox in
Safe Mode with same results for both yahoo.com and for mail.yahoo.com
On SlimJet (chromium), I got Yahoo.com to load, but with
half of the pictures missing. So very strange.
On SlimJet, When I try to load
mail.yahoo.com I just get a LONG pause. And Err: "
This site can’t be reached
mail.yahoo.com took too long to respond."
When it forwards to
login.yahoo.com I get nothing, not even a time out in SlimJet.
And
SlimJet Developer Tools showed
nothing of use. But I don't use it much, so maybe I don't know how to look at it.
These results after hours of working on it.
8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2. THEN: ipconfig /flushdns RESTART and retry.
I have
NO VPN installed.
I have
No Proxy. But I did
Change the
DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2.
THEN: ipconfig /flushdns RESTART and retry. Nothing.
Based on a vid tutorial on YouTube, I did all these.
Command Prompt command :-
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /all
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew
netsh int ip set dns (Only in Win10)
netsh winsock reset
sfc /scanfile=c:\windows\system32\ieframe.dll
sfc /verifyfile=c:\windows\system32\ieframe.dll
And I found no errors and NO CHANGE after reboot.
I ran
sfc /scannow and it found one error, which it corrected. I have yet to run it a second time.
UPDATE: After banging on all of the above, after restarting Firefox in Safe Mode and restarting, I could now load Yahoo.com with full pictures as well as my email at mail.yahoo.com I acutally saw my mail for first time in days.
BUT when I restarted firefox with the mail.yahoo.com page, again it froze. Then back in Safe Mode Firefox failed to load yahoo.com.
I will update later with the results on the other browsers.
