I cannot load the page at Yahoo.com on any of 3 browser, but can on my other device.
My PC is P71110 HP Pavilion p7-1110 8gb DDR3-1333 Core i3 i3-2120 @3.30 GHz
Browsers I use IE11, SlimJet, Firefox, PaleMoon and CentBrowser. All fail to load yahoo.com or any subdomain of Yahoo | Mail, Weather, Search, Politics, News, Finance, Sports & Videos.
So I can't check my email: Yahoo Mail Been that way for 4 days.
HOWEVER, I could successfully check my email from my phone, a Samsung 7.
So I assumed it was a problem with the cache. So I used several Temp File cleaners to clean out as much as I could.
Used: CCleaner, Wise Disk Cleaner.
Nothing. Page fails to load. On rare occasion it comes up, but without graphics, and after LONG wait. But nothing I click on that page loads.
I also ran MalwareBytes. No problems.
Plan to run sfc / scannow
Plan to flush the DNS cache.

Have you checked what response you're getting from the server? I would open up developer tools for your browser of choice and then check the network tab. Look for a request for yahoo.com and then see what response you're getting. It might provide some more information.

Additionally, are you using any software which might try and block your connection to that particular domain?

I don't have a Windows 10 computer; on our Windows 7, I have no problem using either Firefox or Palemoon.
Try one of them with all addons disabled.
Click on Help then Restart with addons disabled.
If YMail loads okay, one of your addons is causing the problem.
To troubleshoot, you enable 2 addons at a time and keep trying to see mail. When it acys up, you know that one of the two you enabled is causing the problem.

Thanks for your quick interest. I forgot to say I use Windows 7 To address your questions:
Just to be clear, I can surf perfectly to all sites other than yahoo on all my browser.
@xrobwx71 My host file is empty, except for the commented out lines.
I am not using any software to block domains except for SpywareBlaster, which I just Updated and I can Disable.
I get no message from the Server when loading a page. It usually just hangs. But after some of the work, I finally got something.
However, in firefox, I got finally Yahoo.com to load, but without any pictures.
On Firefox, when I tried to load mail.yahoo.com I got:
"The connection has timed out. The server at mail.yahoo.com is taking too long to respond."
Restarted Firefox in Safe Mode with same results for both yahoo.com and for mail.yahoo.com
On SlimJet (chromium), I got Yahoo.com to load, but with half of the pictures missing. So very strange.
On SlimJet, When I try to load mail.yahoo.com I just get a LONG pause. And Err: "

This site can’t be reached

mail.yahoo.com took too long to respond."
When it forwards to login.yahoo.com I get nothing, not even a time out in SlimJet.
And SlimJet Developer Tools showed nothing of use. But I don't use it much, so maybe I don't know how to look at it.
These results after hours of working on it.
8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2. THEN: ipconfig /flushdns RESTART and retry.
I have NO VPN installed.
I have No Proxy. But I did Change the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2.
THEN: ipconfig /flushdns RESTART and retry. Nothing.
Based on a vid tutorial on YouTube, I did all these.
Command Prompt command :-
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /all
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew
netsh int ip set dns (Only in Win10)
netsh winsock reset

sfc /scanfile=c:\windows\system32\ieframe.dll
sfc /verifyfile=c:\windows\system32\ieframe.dll
And I found no errors and NO CHANGE after reboot.
I ran sfc /scannow and it found one error, which it corrected. I have yet to run it a second time.

UPDATE: After banging on all of the above, after restarting Firefox in Safe Mode and restarting, I could now load Yahoo.com with full pictures as well as my email at mail.yahoo.com I acutally saw my mail for first time in days.
BUT when I restarted firefox with the mail.yahoo.com page, again it froze. Then back in Safe Mode Firefox failed to load yahoo.com.
I will update later with the results on the other browsers.

Wow, nice work there.

SpywareBlaster, which I just Updated and I can Disable.
Have you disabled and tested? Heck, it's easy to install, why not uninstall it with Revo, reboot and test. I have used SpywareBlaster for years and never had issues but that doesn't mean another won't.

Damn, I had another idea that you didn't list and I got interrupted. Sonofa.....

Oh, what happens when you open an elevated command prompt and ping yahoo.com or mail.yahoo.com?

SpywareBlaster is on all my Win 7 computers (4 of them) and causes no problem. I don't think it is the cause of your current problem.

I'm thinking back...it seems several months ago I couldn't get Yahoo to load. I asked my internet friend in Iowa but he had no problem. I assume Yahoo uses different servers so I figured there was a problem with the server my mail was on.

I never use the main Yahoo page Yahoo | Mail, Weather, Search, Politics, News, Finance, Sports & Videos
but I think I started here, could see that I had mail. I hovered over the envelope and clicked on Go to Mail and got in that way.

See if that will work.

I ran several online scanners to check for viruses and malware. None found. Ran F-SecureOnlineScanner, Eset, Emmisoft Emergency Kit Scanner.
I did a F2 Diagnostic for HP, after Esc from the boot.
HP Diagnostics found ERRORS:
Boot test Failed - Error code 3F0
Warning: Boot Sector Corrupted / Not found
Suggestion: Perform System Recovery OR Call HP support. (old pc, out of warrantee.)
BUT I boot just fine, get into Windows 7 without problems. Occasionally the boot is slow. I KNOW this is a real problem, even if not related to my Browser problem with Yahoo.
And I'll run ScanDisk after I do a full backup of the HDD.

I finally DID uninstall SpywaerBlaster, rebooted and nothing. I ran Revo Uninstalled AFTER I had uninstalled SpywareBlaster, and it found no residue.
But in the morning, when I booted. I miraculously got Yahoo to load in SlimJet, got to see my eamail and delete some before it began to flake out and say in the body of all emails, "You are offline." Which was NOT true. I was able to surf fine in the next tab over.
Then I tried Firefox, and it worked. Finished checking and and deleting emails, quick before I might lose it again.

This is all so strange. The Temp Files cache are stored in different places for each browser. IE, SlimJet (chromium) and Firefox.
I'll keep you posted. Any further ideas appreciated.

Broken again today. Firefox will not bring up Yahoo email or the Yahoo.com page. Just times out. Same with SlimJet. Nothing. Same iwth IE11.
Hate to do a System Restore, but it may be necessary.

Ideas?

When it's in its "broken" state, what happens when you open an elevated command prompt and ping yahoo.com or mail.yahoo.com?

Inside the elevated command prompt:

Type, ping yahoo.com Hit enter

Type ping mail.yahoo.com Hit enter

Take a screenshot or copy and paste the output of the command window.

~~ NOTE: I also checked several sites like Is it down? Check at Down for Everyone or Just Me and it was always up for both yahoo.com and mail.yahoo.com

~~ NOTE: I also notice that I keep getting the very same stories and pictures on Yahoo.com when I do get in. Top story: CelebrityYahoo Movies: ‘Pearl Harbor’ at 20: Kate Beckinsale says she didn’t make sense to Michael Bay ‘because I wasn’t blond and my boobs weren’t bigger than my head’

~~ NOTE: This is what I see in the status bar when it is struggling to connect. I pinged those addresses as well, and they are fine. Time=32ms

I was curious about this in your 2nd ping: Pinging edge.gycpi.b.yahoodns.net
and I found the following
Here's what I'm seeing: DNS for mail.yahoo.com resolves to edge.gycpi.b.yahoodns.net. But that resolves to 0.0.0.0 if you are using the malware-protection version of the DNS service from Cloudflare
Make sure the DNS on your computer is not set to 1.1.1.1 anywhere (that is Cloudflare).

Temporarily change your DNS from 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2 to Open DNS 208.67. 220.220 and 208.67. 222.222
see if that makes a difference.

Maybe a TSL Handshake problem?
How to troubleshoot TLS handshake issues?
How to Fix the 'Performing a TLS Handshake' Error in Mozilla Firefox for Windows? - Appuals.com The “Performing a TLS Handshake” message is an error message itself but it appears when trying to load certain websites using Mozilla Firefox for Windows and it hangs for a long time, sometimes even getting stuck. Suggestions:

1. Addons you have added recently. NOPE
2. The antivirus installed – NOPE, don't have one.
3. IPv6 and DNS issues – Maybe.

~~ Loaded Firefox in Safe mode again and tried Yahoo.com Fail.
~~ Set Preferred DNS server 8.8.8.8 and Alternate DNS server 8.8.4.4. to 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222. With validate on Exit, it did a quick Win Net Diag, and found nothing wrong. Fail. Yahoo.com failed.
~~ But a few minutes later, both Yahoo.com and mail.yahoo.com SUCCESSFULLY loaded fast.
~~ Shut OFF IPv6 in Adapter settings. Flushed DNS with the ipconfig commands. Reboot Firefox. Way slow load 2min or so, but still brings old the OLD Search page. And yet, I DID get into the email. Hmmm. Take it when you get it.
~~ BUT after I processed my email, shut down Firefox and launched it again, STILL had a big delay. Minutes before getting, "The connection has timed out"
~~ Few minutes later, Firefox loaded Yahoo and Yahoo mail just fine. Seemed like I'd fixed it.
~~ Closed and reopened Firefox, and both sites still load fast.
~~ Rebooted and opened Firefox, and both sites still load fast.
~~ BUT IE and Slimjet are still jammed up.

~~ TIP: CCleaner / Options / Advanced / Only delete files inthe Windows Temp folder older than 24 hours: UnCHECK

HELP ME

~~ Q: Why can't I consistently load Yahoo.com on my browser, even after I changed DNS, Flushed DNS, Turned OFF IPv6?

~~ Minutes later, even Firefox stopped loading Yahoo.com
~~ Minutes later, I did get SlimJet to load Yahoo.com and mail, and it was fast. Then it stopped working.
~~ Maybe a router issue? Take router out of the network and plug network cable directly into the Cable Modem. Done. No improvement, except for brief moments.
~~ Have yet to pull all the prefs from Firefox.

Still need help.

Truly baffling. I'm unable to reproduce your error on four computers using Windows 7. Two are running Palemoon and two are running FF ESR.
When you use Yahoo on your phone are you using wifi or cell data? If wifi, that would seem to indicate that it is not a problem with your router but a problem specific to your computer. But what? I really have no idea.

Firefox will not bring up Yahoo email or the Yahoo.com page. Just times out.
Let's see if a longer timeout will allow FF to load the page.
1. In FF's address bar, type about:config
2. You can ignore the warning and promise to be careful.
3. Type network.http.response

You will see network.http.response.timeout. FF has a value of 300 for me. Increase this to 600 and see if the page will load. If not, you can always go back in and edit it back to 300.

~~ Minutes later, I did get SlimJet to load Yahoo.com and mail, and it was fast. Then it stopped working.
This is significant as Slimjet is Chromium-based which should rule out the FF profile.

Something is blocking this domain after the fact and I'm not sure where to look.

What AV are you using?

Do you have the "Intel PROSet Monitoring Service" running? If so, uninstall it.

Follow these instructions for running the Sysnative BSOD Collection App. I know you're not experiencing BSOD's but this app will give us some insight into what's running on your system.

Thanks,

~~ I have not seen any spikes in CPU using TaskManager when I have Yahoo problem.
~~ I have repeatedly tried to see if yahoo was online Yahoo down? Current problems and status. - DownFor Never found a problem there. Yahoo is FINE.
~~ To be clear, I can sometimes get Yahoo and Yahoo mail to load and it works fine for maybe 10 minutes, then seems to go offline. In any of three browser: IE, Firefox, Slimjet. So the problem is intermittent.
~~ One online search suggested a router problem. I reboot the router every night, but I'll reboot the cable modem and see if that helps.
~~ If all else fails, I have a few spare routers that I can test to see if that's it. I suppose a full Router RESET might achieve the same result. My spare are Linksys Wrt54g and Wrt54gl. Currently on a Netgear Genie WNR2000v5 V1.0.0.72.

~~ I will run the BSOD collection app and report back.

Thanks for all the support guys.

Sorry, forgot to answer
~~ No "Intel PROSet Monitoring Service" running or on the PC
~~ No active AV. I just run MalwareBytes and online scanners as needed. Ran F-SecureOnlineScanner, Eset, Emmisoft Emergency Kit Scanner, and all were clean.
~~ To be clear, surfing to any other site on any of the browsers works fine.
