Hey guys

I have buyed a IOGEAR GUWAVKIT3W6(Wireless to VGA Kit over USB) for use on my 6 Dell Vostro 3360(Windows 7 PRO X64) in my enterprise.
I have no problems with other laptops (Dell Vostro 3550 with Win 7 Pro X64, ...)
The Dell Vostro 3360 have a Intel HD Graphics 4000 with newest drivers.

Iogear tell me we have no problems with others Win7 X64 clients with this error (maybe we dont have Dell Vostro 3360 clients :smile9:)

I connect the wireless receiver/base to a projector and install de software on the laptop(CD of Iogear), at this point no problem.
When in put the Wireless USB Transmitter on laptop is detected and make a black flash on display and I have a blue screen (see attach picture).
I reboot the laptop and put the Wireless USB Transmitter and is detect (sound) but I have a Unknown Device in Device Manager.
If I trie to manual installation of drivers I have the same BSOD.

I send you a DUMP file(.dmp) of pc when we have blue screen, to analyze.

I need you help because I need this device working in all laptops.

Dell Vostro 3360
- 3rd generation Intel Core i5-3317U (1.7GHz)
- 4GB (1600) 1x4
- Portuguese Genuine Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium (64 BIT)
- 13.3 inch (34cm) High Definition LED Display (1366 x 768) with anti-glare
- Intel HD Graphics 4000 integrated with Ivi Bridge Processor
- 500GB 7.200 Rpm
- Dell Wireless 1703 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0+LE

Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/bs...d-posting-instructions-windows-8-7-vista.html

Picture shows memory dump blaming USB 3.0 driver. Please:
- uninstall USB 3.0 driver/software
- download and install a fresh copy from Intel Download Center
- monitor for further BSOD's

Other issues that may be contributing to this (I am most concerned about the cdrbsdrv.sys, the tap0901.sys, the Wisair Wireless USB Suite, and the older version of Kaspersky):
Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Good Afternoon

first off all thanks for your atencion.

I update USB 3.0 driver/software from Intel website.
I have "uninstaled" and removed from registry the references on "cdrbsdrv.SYS".

New try(connect usb device), now with new version of usb 3.0 drivers/software.
"Blue Screen" with the same reference to iusb3hub.sys

"OpenVPN"()tap0901.sys, this is the only version I can use on my enterprise and have no problems with Wireless to Vga device in others Dell pc's with this version of OpenVPN.
"Wisair Wireless USB Suite", this is software version of Wireless to Vga device and have the correct drivers/software(Iogear tell me this the correct drivers)
"Kaspersky", this the client version I can use in my pc's and this version is used on 500 network pc's on my enterprise.

I send yo the test reports you tell me to do.

Note: When I make this step ""jcgriff2 BSOD File Collection app" this don't finish..I wating...waiting...and about 15 minutos I close the window, but zip the folder(i dont no is finished the tests).
After 15 minutes have in pc display "Waiting for SystemInfo"

Thanks

Hi -

I don't see any new BSODs in the zip attachment. The latest one -
Code:
Debug session time: Fri [COLOR=#FF0000]Jan 4[/COLOR] 08:18:44.488 [COLOR=#FF0000]2013 [/COLOR](UTC - 5:00)

Please check c:\windows\minidump -- any DMP files with a more recent timestamp?

If so, please copy them out, zip them up & attach to your next post

Looks like KIS 2011...? (just curious)

That is actually the Windows executable msinfo32.exe. I get sporadic reports about this phenomenon (about 0.2%); not sure why this happens. My apologies.

You did exactly what I would have advised - kill it and submit the zipped folder.

Regards. . .

Hi,

maybe(??) I have de BSODs on screen before I make the tests you tell me to do.
I send you the last two DUMP Files from 7-1-2013.

We use Kasperky EndPoint Security for all pc's on enterprise.

Tell me if you need other files or tests.

Thank you for your dedication

Still blames USB 3.0 drivers (and I note here that you've updated them).
Can you plug the Wisair Wireless USB Suite device into a USB 2.0 port and see if that helps?

Possible problems are:
- physically broken USB 3.0 controller
- other USB devices (or drivers for them) that either aren't compatible, have problem drivers, or are physically broken.

Devices/drivers most likely involved are the OpenVPN and or the Wisair/IOGear wireless USB stuff. Other USB devices could also be causing problems, but we don't see signs of them in the memory dumps.

I think Dell Vostro 3360 only havel usb 3.0 ports.
"USB 3.0 X 2 , USB 3.0 with Power Share x 1 (3 total)"

In firsts tests(before I create this topic) I have tried other ports(with old driver of usb 3.0) and give me the same BSOD.

I dont no where search the cause of problem, only think I can do is uninstall OpenVPN to test, but the users need this version of OPenVPN.

Ideias?

Why can you only use that version of OpenVPN? What errors do you get if you try to use it anyway? Maybe there's another program that's not compatible (and maybe you can remove that to see if the other things work then).

Things to try (one at a time):
Uninstall USB 3.0 drivers (maybe it'll default to USB 2.0 or 1.1?)?
Uninstall software for IOGear USB to video device - then physically remove the device from the system?
Uninstall OpenVPN software to test.

Thanks for you reply.

This is a modicated version of OpenVPN for work on my network. I only can install or uninstall OpenVPN to try something.
This version of OpenVPN is in use in other pc's with no problem on others software/devices and this Iogear device is working in some of them.
The problem is in this particulary model of Dell pc.
First I will try uninstall OpenVPN, reboot and connect usb Iogear device.
Send you DUMP File if I have BSOD?

Questions:
- Yesterday I upgrade the drivers of usb 3.0 to the last drivers of Intel. Now you tel me to uninstall the usb 3.0 drivers and after reboot try Iogear device on one usb port?
After I reboot which drivers/version have usb ports??

- If uninstall software Iogear USB to video device, I think I can use the device and create a BSOD (software autoinstall at one time soft and drivers for device)

- No problem to uninstall OpenVPN. I will try this first.

OK, so OpenVPN is probably not involved with the error.

My suggestions are just different ways of trying to rule out problems.

I looked a little deeper at this one and found a lot of Kaspersky in the raw stack text.
So I'd suggest that the next test is to remove Kaspersky from the system in question and see if that stops the BSOD's

There is also a driver or two for the USB to video device - but let's leave that until the next attempt.

Hy,

news....

I make a complete uninstall of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for windows and reboot the pc(I remember this is the antivirus software client for all of 500 pc's on my enterprise).
I put the usb Iogear device on pc and all drivers has installed correctly and I have image on projector...GOOD News

Now (for try) i have installed Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 and after put the usb Iogear device...BAD news
Give me a iusb3hub.sys error on BSOD (the same error on this large history).
I send you de DUMP file on attachment.

I can use another antivirus on Dell Vostro 3360 (or another pc) because now this is standard antivirus for all Enterprise Group.
May be you identify some parameters/... on registry/.... I can remove or change on pc to make this work with Iogear usb device and Kasperky without affect the stability of pc.

Note: I have to install drivers for cdrom devices(in first tests I have removed), because Vodafone USB Dongle dont work without this, but I think the only problem is compatibility with Kaspersky and Iogear usb device.

Thanks in advance

I'll get to the memory dump shortly.
With 500 copies of Kaspersky running in your organization, I'd suggest contacting Kaspersky for a fix. You're paying them a lot of money for this product, they should be able to give you expedited support.
They have driver writers and programmers that can do what we're doing - and do it much faster and better.

Memory dump is essentially the same as the previous one's. I'm going to ask someone else to take a look at this, but I still think that Kaspersky Support is your best bet for rapid resolution. FWIW - I submitted a virus to them not long ago and then had it in their database almost immediately.:

Do you have patch B installed?
Code:
Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows (version 8.1.0.646 (a)): patch B
released
[B]2012 Feb 16[/B]

http://support.kaspersky.com/7566

I don't know if there is a version more recent than that one. I don't see Endpoint listed on their current business page -

See if patch B helps.

I agree with usasma.

Contact Kaspersky - you've got 500 other users riding on this as you know.

Another friend posted back and he thinks that it's most likely the Kaspersky - but that it has enough involvement with the USB drivers that it could be them. It seems to definitely be an incompatibility between Kaspersky and the USB 3.0 drivers.

He agrees with pursuing it through Kaspersky first also.
