BSOD Collection Application can't determine My Documents folder despite being lauched from it.

I'm currently on Windows 7 Ultimate with my environment folders mostly be located in places besides the C drive. I can't get the BSOD Dump and Sys File Collection App to figure out that i have "My Documents" located in a non-standard place, so when i run it, even from said location, it gives me nothing useful.

I've been having some pretty constant BSODs starting on the previous OS install (Windows 7 Ultimate x64) back in maybe late november 2020. I finally moved the system to my new desk and decided to nuke and pave the OS. still haven't had a stable system like i did back when i first installed Windows 7. In fact, it was still stable in maybe october?

before anyone says it, This processor isn't supposed to support Win 7, and i know it, but it has run fantastically from february until the BSODs started happening.

In an attempt to get a stable system, i tried installing Windows 10 Enterprise on a separate partition, but it was even more unstable.

Win 7 seems a LOT more forgiving, where i can go quite a long time without a BSOD, even days if i'm careful and make sure hardware acceleration is turned off in firefox.

Win 10 BSOD's within 3-5 minutes most of the time with a WHEA Uncorrectable Error.

Issue seems related to Nvidia Drivers for my 1080 series video card.

Not sure what to do to get help troubleshooting this, but i've put in what i could from BlueScreenView below as i can't get the BSOD Collection Application to work on my system.

Can anyone here help me?

Here are all the requested questions:

System Manufacturer?
- Alienware by Dell

Laptop or Desktop?
- Desktop
Exact model number (if laptop, check label on bottom)
- Alienware Aurora R8

OS ? (Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista)
- Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Fully updated with all security patches up until December 2020 (mostly stable unless i run a program that calls for hardware acceleration)
- Windows 10 Enterprise x64 (very unstable, usually BSODs within a few minutes of bootup)

What was original installed OS on system?
- Windows 10 Home

Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)?
- Windows 7 Ultimate is the version from Dell/Alienware, technically OEM but acts as a full installation.

Age of system? (hardware)
- Purchased in February of 2019, so just over 2 years

Age of OS installation?
- Windows 7 Ultimate: About a month or so, possibly less. Reinstalled after nearly 2 year old existing/working Windows 7 installation started having fairly regular BSODs
- Windows 10 Enterprise: maybe 2 weeks tops, installed as a troubleshooting steps

Have you re-installed the OS?
- Yes, see above.

CPU
- Intel Core i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz
- Cores 8
- Threads 8
- Name Intel Core i7 7700
- Code Name Kaby Lake
- Package Socket 1151 LGA
- Technology 14nm

RAM (brand, EXACT model, what slots are you using?)
- 16 GB
- 2 out of 4 Slots
- Whatever brand Dell provided (Speccy didn't say, not interested in opening up the system unless i absolutely have to as it is installed in a not easily accessible area)

Video Card
- Dell version of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
- Manufacturer NVIDIA
- Model GeForce GTX 1080
- Device ID 10DE-1B80
- Revision A2

- Temperature 56 °C
- Driver version 27.21.14.6140
- BIOS Version 86.04.60.00.a8
- Memory 4095 MB

MotherBoard - (if NOT a laptop)
- Manufacturer Alienware
- Model 0R3FWM (U3E1)
- Version A00
- Chipset Vendor Intel
- Chipset Model ID3E30
- Chipset Revision 0A
- Southbridge Vendor Intel
- Southbridge Model Z370
- Southbridge Revision 00

Power Supply - brand & wattage (if laptop, skip this one)
- Dell Alienware R8 Power Supply (like the ram, i've got no idea about branding here. i also don't know about wattage or any of the other specs)

Is driver verifier enabled or disabled?
- Currently disabled.

What security software are you using? (Firewall, antivirus, antimalware, antispyware, and so forth)
- Windows Defender is on the system and up to date as of 2021-03-01, but i'm not keeping it running as i can't get a stable environment yet
- Malware Bytes Free has been installed, though i don't think we'll find anything since even the clean partition with Windows 10 Enterprise on it was having issues.

Are you using proxy, vpn, ipfilters or similar software?
- No

Are you using Disk Image tools? (like daemon tools, alcohol 52% or 120%, virtual CloneDrive, roxio software)
- Not yet. Normally install included both Virtual CloneDrive and Daemon Tools, but i haven't gotten the OS to be stable enough to even consider building out my normal work environment

Are you currently under/overclocking? Are there overclocking software installed on your system?
- No. I have turned off all stock overclocks in BIOS and won't bother with anything until i get stability out of this.

The collection tool doesn't look in your documents folder. Could you please try again and upload the zip folder?

Thanks for the reply, but there are no zip files created:

Here is the output from the program.

i tried manually creating the appropriate places in the environment variables, but it still didn't work.

this app is expecting things to be found in "normal" locations and isn't finding them. the cmd window that is open mentions it can't find a file, folder, or path specified.

Could you please check the following location for any dump files?

Code:
%systemroot%\Minidump

That isn't where i keep my dump files.

I'll try copying over the last dump file to that location to see if the program does something different

There are several dmp files located in that folder, but MEMORY.DMP wasn't there, as expected.

when i copied it over and tried to run the app, i get the exact same problem message:

All the dump files appear to be due to your graphics card driver, please check to see if they've released another update or alternatively, please install the same driver version using DDU.

the reason are the blanks in your path:rolleyes:

hmmm... so maybe there is just something wrong with my graphics card, since it is doing it on both win 7 and win 10 after fresh installs....

so, if there were any spaces in a path, the app wouldn't find the correct locations? there's gotta be some sort of update to fix that sort of thing. Surely i can't be the only one out there who uses spaces in their user name

Alright, so i went in and used DDU in safe mode to remove my drivers. I rebooted and installed the latest drivers from NVidia's website.

I rebooted and then launched twitch when i came back online. Almost immediate BSOD.

Guessing the issue is with my video card. really kinda bummed as i don't know what to do to fix a Dell branded NVidia GTX 1080 when the base system is out of warranty.
