It's that time of year again here at the New Jersey Shore!

Winter Storm "Jonas" is blowing through town.

Temp is 22°F (low 9°F) and it's snowing heavily. Blizzard warning in effect. We're expecting 1-2 feet (14 to 20 inches) of fresh snow - 1" - 2" on the ground already; Winds expected to be hurricane force - gusts up to 80 mph. Snow expected to continue through Sunday morning.

I liked your 1st screenshot, Corrine - a "Lizzard Warning"! LOL

It is still snowing heavily here; winds are howling and blowing the snow sideways.

Wind gusts are at times are over 70 MPH.

There must be nearly 2 feet or more of snow on the ground now.

State of Emergency is in effect. The State of New Jersey is literally closed!

I saw that the Mayor said only emergency vehicles in NYC effective 2:30 pm today. A friend who lives in NYC said that as of 7:40pm, they had over 21.5 inches of snow locally and the "official" figure for NYC, as measured in Central Park was 25.1 inches. Meanwhile, the snow continues. We've had blizzards like that here, although fortunately not often.

Official snowfall to date for a local township to the north, Ocean Township, NJ is 20"; Brick Township to the south still reporting heavy snow at this hour -

We never get any kind of snow like that.
We might get half an inch if we're lucky.
