Hi,
I use a program called classic shell as I dislike the Windows 10 start menu. I have it to emulate how XP roughly looked at. I have noticed that in my Program Folder there are a few icons that are blank. See picture below. I have tried right clicking the problem icons and changing the icon. A typical message is " Shortcut - Unable to save changes to 'PrintDialog.lnk -Access denied". I have checked the security tab on the icon properties and have all the permissions selected.
Also after the Windows 10 Fall Update I noticed that some icons in my "normal" Windows Start menu are blank...specifically the ones under "Most Used". All other app icons are fine. See picture below. I switch back and forth between this start menu and the XP like one from classic shell.
I have tried the icon cache rebuild and rebooted as per the link below a few times without luck:
Icon Cache - Rebuild in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums
I have also uninstalled classic shell as I thought maybe it was causing problems, but this had no effect on the "Most Used" icons.
Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.
