Windows 8 Services Information As of this posting, the information Black Viper has included is based upon the Desktop versions of Windows 8 since the phone and tablet versions have not yet been released. Services Information: (Additional information about all services that came with Windows 7.) Windows 8 Services Configurations: (Background services configuration examples) Note Important: Prior to making any changes to Windows Services: Check that all Microsoft updates have been installed. Before making changes, all services should be set to the default values. Always use “services.msc” (typed in the Run box). Do not use “msconfig” to disable services.
