Hi...I started having this annoying problem this afternoon and now I'm unable to watch a movie full screen coz the window gets un-selected after every 10 seconds minimizing the screen or even now if I take a pause in typing, then I need to click on the window bar to re-select this window and resume my typing.
I've followed the instructions about the CBS.zip folder and here I upload it.
hope someone can help me out with this annoying glitch
tnx a lot!!!

What operating system are you using Win 7, 8, 8.1, XP or Vista?
Is there any 1 program taking focus when this happens?

I always suspect Malware when this type of thing happens - and it's good practice to scan for such anyhow...

Please download and install Malwarebytes Anti-malware (free version) from Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer - UNtick 'Enable free trial of MBAM PRO' at the end of the installation - and update it, then run a full scan in your main account, and Quick scans in any other user accounts.

Delete everything it finds

Does that help at all? (you may want to download/install/run in Safe Mode with Networking)

Gosh...in the end it detected more than 460 objects!!!!
now it seems like the glitch has gone...
Thanks a lot...really!!!!

That's not good at all. Well, it is great MBAM detected and apparently fixed your problems, but it is bad you had 460 suspect objects in the first place.

Are you "practicing safe computing"? That is, are you keeping Windows fully patched and updated? Do you use and keep current a real-time anti-malware solution (MSE, Avira, Avast, or something similar)? Is Windows Firewall or a suitable 3rd party alternative enabled? Are you avoiding risky behavior by NOT participating in filesharing of copyrighted materials (songs and movies) via torrents or P2P sites; by not clicking on unsolicited downloads, attachments and links; by avoiding sites badguys are known to wallow in (illegal gambling, porn, etc.)?

It is critical to understand the user is always the weakest link in security. If the user is disciplined at practicing safe computer, it is very rare and difficult to infect a computer. If the computer is not fully updated, you need to ensure it is. I use and recommend Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) for Windows 7 and below. Windows 8 has an updated version of MSE built in, now called Windows Defender. I also recommend periodic supplemental scanning with MBAM just to make sure nothing slipped by MSE. Windows Firewall is built in to Windows.

That said, the best security in the world is pretty much worthless if you open the door and let the badguy in. So avoiding risky behavior is up to the user.

well...Digerati...the only not safe computing I can come up with it' the filesharing via torrents. I was also surprised it found so many infected objects...I usually run McAfee but that's it.
what is a MBAM? My laptop runs on windows 8 and have no idea whether I'm keeping Windows fully patched and updated....I think so.
would you describe a little bit in easier words what I should do to safe computing?
tnx!

...the only not safe computing I can come up with it' the filesharing via torrents.
Well, as for it being the "only" part, malware distribution via torrents is undeniably one of the most prolific methods of distribution badguys use. And the problem there is they use this method to distribute their brand new malicious code - code the anti-malware community has yet to write updated signature/definition files for. So if that is how you are obtaining your tunes or videos, I recommend find a better and legitimate way.

I usually run McAfee but that's it.
What do you mean by "usually"? It should be running in real-time - that is, all the time. I don't like McAfee because it is a resource hog - BUT, it is an excellent security program so if you like it, no reason to get rid of it. However, it needs to be running in real-time. If you have disabled real-time protection, you might as well be waving a banner to the badguys saying, "Come steal my passwords, bank accounts, and personal information!" :roll eyes (sarcasti

As for your firewall, I suspect McAfee is using theirs, and that's fine. You can check Action Center to make sure one is enabled.

By default, Window 8 has Windows Update set to "install updates automatically". So if you have not changed the settings, Windows should be staying current.

ok...I'been spending hours behind the pc today to solve all these security issues...it's weird!
and it seems like the automatic de-selecting annoying problem is back!!!! O.o
well anyway, my McAfee scan plus "should" be working real-time....I checked and everything is green...virus and spyware protection, firewall protection, web protection.
but concerning the windows firewall there it's saying that it's not using the recommended settings and even if I try to click on "use recommended settins" a small window pops up saying that windows firewall can't change some of my settings Error code 0x80070424!!!
what does it mean???
and yes...the windows keep on deselecting themselves AGAIN!!!!!
aaarghhhh
why???

well....actually I found out that my McAfee internet security is not working anymore!!!!!!!!
what the hek!!!!
what's going on?????

You don't need two firewalls. Windows Firewall is automatically disabled when a 3rd party firewall is installed so that's fine since McAfee firewall is running.

edit add: since McAfee firewall was running -

I recommend you have one of Sysnative's malware removal experts have a look at your system. Please read and follow the instructions provided here.

It could be alot easier to explain if you show us the log it created when it detected that 460 objects, you can find it in the "reports" or "logs" section of the program.

Btw, please uninstall McAfee, it's complete trash, anyone out there is better than that, though, my opinion.

ok....do I have to open each log and copy-paste the .txt file?
well....it's quite annoying to spend money for an antivirus is not doing its job!!! cannot really affors now to uninstall it and pay again for another one!!!
anyway, which one would you suggest to me? Eset?

You need to get your system clean first before worrying about removing McAfee or what to replace it with. So again, have a malware removal expert check your system out. Then worry about a new anti-malware solution or uploading your logs.

That said, McAfee is not trash. It is a very effective anti-malware solution. But again, the best solution is worthless if you let the badguys in.

However, I agree that paying for an anti-malware solution when there are several capable free alternatives available (including Windows Defender built into W8) makes no sense. Especially one that requires recurring renewal fees to keep working. The only paid version I would and do recommend is MBAM Pro. It plays well with MSE, Windows Defender and other programs so is good to have running with them as a double layered defense. But also, it is typically less expensive than the other paid programs but more importantly, it is a one-time cost - no renewal fees.

Im positive that only one detected the 460, or i misread? Post that one, if i misread, post the full scan latest one you did.

If you want a paid AV i suggest you ESET NOD32, it's one of the best out there, you won't regret it.

And yes, McAfee is complete trash, i don't even need to re-tell that, only the thing that comes with other programs as an suggested AV feels just like PUP's, that's how i treat McAfee, you want to me post comparatives on it and reviews? Like people reviews, that's what really matters.
Among it starting after everything else started on the computer, it eates resources like a pig, and doesn't detect anything, literally, i'd suggest using revo uninstaller to uninstall every trace of it and install a decent one like i suggested above, if you want a free one, i suggest Avira or MSE if you really don't have money to afford one.

And it's not worthless if you get the bad guys in, since, when i talk about an AV i talk about an AV pack, AV + Firewall, which no malware/spyware/adware will attempt to infect your computer even more because it simply blocks/asks you permission for it to connect to the internet.

i'd suggest...
I'd suggest you back off with your interference until the staff and malware removal experts here clear the OP's computer.

My interference? Oh, so sorry, just trying to help, if that disturbs you, so sorry, i'm not a MS MVP but it's not like i'm talking out of my rear here.

But don't worry, i won't interfere anymore, i'll just remove myself from this topic, and maybe this forum and let the "experts" work, in which for them, i got respect, that's why i tried to help and save some of their time, in what could be a minor glich.
