Does anyone know if has been fixed yet?

I am still coming across crashes where CCC.exe is the culprit.

Seriously I am starting to think that it is Malware.

How long have you been running 12.10?

Yea, I know about John's instructions on removal of CCC and install of just the drivers.

But people shouldn't need to do that. Sheesh AMD is a huge company, can't they fix it? Or simply stop trying to add too much functionality.

I've never had problems with CCC myself or AMD drivers in general with my HD 4850. My guess is that people are overclocking through CCC. I have heard instances where CCC actually overclocked systems without a user's knowledge, but that may have just been a user who did something without realizing it.

I've also been told that the 4000 series was the last truly stable series AMD released, so that may be part of it. I know 5000 and 6000 cards had some buggy drivers when they were first released that have since been fixed for the most part.

My X-fire support goes in and our for different versions of CCC...

I've been running the latest version for about 2 weeks without an issues

Does Intel have something that does what CCC does? (whatever that is!)

I would estimate that I see 1 Intel "probably caused by" for every 1,000 (maybe 10,000) ATI BSODs.
