This is ARTAN RAMAJ, student, in ALBANIA - westartan@hotmail.com
I'm giving this report to you acording to instructions I followed by Mr.Noel Paton - Nil Carborundum Illegitemi

I wanted to know If my windows is Genuine, or cracked,
I'm already using it, without any problem, my laptop was given to me from my brother as a gift,

but I think that somehow he might have corrupted something in it, BUT he seems to lie to me for not causing me problems.
All I'm asking is to be legal with WINDOWS.I did this test as a counselor from MICROSOFT suggested me to with this link

http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/ValidationResult.aspx?displaylang=en&PageName=validate , Validation was ok , Microsoft said that this is genuine.

Now if you think there's smth wrong with my windows, let me now(in a very simple way), even though I cannot afford to buy a new one.but i'll stop using it!

MY laptop is

HP 635 ,
using : Windows 7 Pro OA (i see it on the COA label under my laptop)
Service Pack 1
Product ID at the properties 00371-OEM-8992671-00008
it has also a Product key 25digit, the last 5digits are *****-*****-*****-*****-4DWGC

THank you very much, now I'm ok. If I HAVE Any other questions I'll write again.

..and for the THIRD time, Artan - ......
(once in PM here, once at http://social.technet.microsoft.com...44cade42#ca490141-b49e-4969-8359-53e5b589936a)

You get the same answer here as I gave you elsewhere -
Computers that come pre-installed with Windows from large manufacturers usually come with two Product Keys.

OEM SLP: This is the key that came in Windows (from the factory). It works by connecting to a BIOS flag (the SLIC table) found only on computers from that Manufacturer. It also checks for the existence of proper matching licenses in the OS itself. Once it sees both, it self-activates every time the machine is rebooted.

COA SLP: This is the key seen on the sticker located on the side, bottom or in the battery compartment of your machine. This key is for use if the OEM SLP self-activation stops working for whatever reason.
As far as I can tell, your installation is genuine.
No-one in this forum has access to the internal database required for a better knowledge (at least as far as I know) - and that would require that you install your COA Key anyhow.

Thank you very much Mr. Noel, have a good time !

Hi, Artan.

As further "proof" that your license is valid, you mentioned in the PM that you installed Microsoft Security Essentials. MSE will only install after confirming that the operating system is Genuine.

Please let us know if we can provide further assistance.

Corrine/Artan
There is a world of difference between a system reporting as being genuine (and hence being able to install MSE) and the system being truly valid.
Technical validation can be forced by the use of various hacks - and MSE will install - but an MGADiag report can show results which will still positively identify the system as being counterfeit.

There is almost no way to be 100% certain of true validity without knowing the source of the Key, and its supply-chain.
It's very easy to be 100% certain of an invalid system with an MGADiag report - even if the report actually states that it's genuine :)
