Re: Inspiron G3 15 3590, frustrated with Dell India escalations team
(it is going to be a long read)

apart from the fact that dell has mistakenly given me the wrong SSD (which they have promised to replace), there is a list of 11 problems already

including the laptop going to sleep [many (around 10) times] despite that the sleep setting is set to never, after i had collected it from the service center. it does not occur everytime but intermittently.
does anyone have solutions for the 11 problems? are these common? (please ignore the problem(s), i am being guided for in my other thread: UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION BSOD in dell g3 3590 when resuming from hibernation )
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the list of current problems:

1 even when sleep is set to never, the laptop goes to sleep after sometime. this problem got solved after 1st time replacement of motherboard, but re-appeared after 2nd time replacement of motherboard. (hence i suspect that the service centre has used the motherboard that came when i bought the laptop for the 2nd time replacement)

2 overheating [graphics card temperature >80C and processor temperature >99C (when playing games or when subjected to testing)]

3 when i put the laptop to hibernate, it goes into hibernation, but sometimes powers on automatically after sometime; and sometimes follows with hibernation on its own. this problem does not happen everytime, but intermittently

4 when i put the laptop to hibernate (with many tabs open in chrome), it goes into hibernation, but sometimes could not retain hibernation data when it resumes, instead BSOD (blue screen) occurs. this problem does not happen everytime, but intermittently

5 computer hangs randomly for about 20 seconds sometimes

6 battery has lost its life (health) (irreversibly) due to the extreme overheating problems. but dell says that the battery is ok, and refuses to replace it.

7 supportassist-os-recovery cannot restore from local-recovery-image (i need link to download DELL factory recovery image from DELL)

8,9 alienware-command-center doesnt retain cooling policy settings, power policy settings. i suspect that this is not a software problem, but a hardware problem.

10 DELL powermanager doesn't retain cooling policy settings after reboot. i suspect that this is not a software problem, but a hardware problem.

11 SOME executable setup.exe wont run even when run as administrator
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i can try to compromise with the problems 7, 8, 9, 10, 11; but the first 6 are serious ones. they are affecting the work for which i bought the laptop. i spent so much money hoping to buy a new faultless laptop. but this machine is faulty. i am fed up with troubleshooting after troubleshooting by dell. and dell neither has solved these in these 10 months, nor agrees to give a new (not refurbished) laptop as replacement nor agrees to refund my money (as it was bought in the USA), despite me having purchased a premium international warranty for extra 45 USD.

please tell me if these problems are common in this model; else how to solve them?

EDIT: forgive my poor English. it should be:
"please ignore the problem(s) for which i am being guided in my other thread."
and not
"please ignore the problem(s), i am being guided for in my other thread"

can someone help?

Please stop creating different threads for what is effectively the same issue. You already have an ongoing PM (private message) thread with several staff members who've offered you suggestions.

@x BlueRobot, no these problems are different from the PM thread, or my previous thread. that is why i created this new thread, as per @jcgriff2's suggestion. sorry if violates the forum's rules. you can delete it, if so.

My fault - I did instruct him to create a thread, but I did not realize that there would be >1.

Apologies...

John

sorry, but i had created this thread to get help for my other problems apart from the BSODs, since i did not want to mix up the problems and create confusion. @zbook has also suggested that i get help for my other problems in this thread. i did not mean to piss off anyone here.
----------------------------------------------------------------
in addition to the above mentioned problems, my portable cent_4.2.10.171 browser x64 displayed 'aw...snap' in all 103 tabs while browsing today. so i had to close all tabs and restart it again. could it be RAM problem? i had already run memtest86 before giving the laptop to the service center and posted the result in this thread:
UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION BSOD in dell g3 3590 when resuming from hibernation

also, the nahimic issue has not been there till now after the re-installation of the OS but has now returned. please see my old threads:
( New laptop infected - Mouse pointer alternates betn normal and working - Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Help )
( UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION BSOD in dell g3 3590 when resuming from hibernation )

this is the only one thread i have created for my problems OTHER THAN THE BSODs.
My fault - I did instruct him to create a thread, but I did not realize that there would be >1.
Apologies...
John
i am hoping that someone will help soon, especially the temperatures. thank you.
---------------------------------------

has 2 images showing the ambient temperature as well as the other temperatures. as you can see in my OP, i always use the laptop on a table with 4cm gap (ground clearance) between the laptop and the table.

is this temperature normal?
anyone else having all the problems mentioned in my first post?
