I looked up all the CLSIDs in that snipped of AdwCleaner log, and they all belong to various PUP/PUA, so they are "good" detections.

Also like Corrine said, AdwCleaner isn't a tool developped here on Sysnative (like SFCFix), so reports, suggestions, feedback, etc. should be given directly on ToolsLib (where AdwCleaner is hosted).

professional-better tool for the detection PUP ?

There are some other professional(ADVANCED)-better tool for the detection PUP (more details in the log)?

Re: professional-better tool for the detection PUP ?

Hi maki :)

What kind of details do you want to see in the logs?

Re: professional-better tool for the detection PUP ?

SpyHunter The software gives a lot of detail in each detected object, but it is paid!
alternative tool - freeware, that shows a lot of detail?

or...

Re: professional-better tool for the detection PUP ?

I'm not really fond of SpyHunter to be honest.

spyhunter vs malwarebytes vs iobit - Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, and Privacy Software

Also, SpyHunter doesn't give "a lot of detail", it's just that instead of simply flagging the file as "Adware, Trojan, etc". they also add the same generic description on every detection which makes it looks like they give a lot of details, but they don't.

Honestly, all you need from a detection is the filename, filepath and threat name. You can find pretty much everything you need with these information after.

Re: professional-better tool for the detection PUP ?

I do not have free time to look for each entry.
I do not have free time to spend every day on the forum AdwCleaner or other questions, and what it means to this entry in the registry, it is very stupid job!
Real tool, not just any amateur tool AdwCleaner etc..

Re: professional-better tool for the detection PUP ?

AdwCleaner is far from being an amateur tool, since JRT was created the same way and it was bought by Malwarebytes :)

In that case, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Emsisoft Anti-Malware (Emergency Kit if you want something portable), HitmanPro, etc. are all good alternatives.

Re: professional-better tool for the detection PUP ?

This forum is for assistance with malware removal, not discussions about what tools are available, what they show, etc. If you need assistance, maki, please create a new thread and post the logs requested in Malware Removal Posting Instructions.

Topic closed.

PUP

Junkware Removal Tool - shows the name, but only after deleting all of the entries, so the more impractical tool for idiots :D

Emergency Kit Scanner 11 - Very good tool to detect malware, but to a lesser extent, Detects Potentially risk applications (eg. unwanted changed system settings)

Re: PUP

JRT doesn't show detection names, it isn't a full product.
EEK is also very good at detecting and removing malware, even better than JRT.
