Thanks, I removed the McAfee and installed service pack 1. it also had to update many things after installing SP1 and when it did a restart it had another bsod but didn't have a message saying there was a memory dump or anything, so I turned off the computer and restarted it and clicked f2 to boot through Last known good configuration and it finished installing updates. Maybe there was an error when installing the updates and had to finish them. Ive been running the computer now for about 10 minutes and seems to be alright. Ill keep this updated if it happens again. Thanks.

Hi -

Glad to hear McAfee is gone & that W7 SP1 is installed.

We'll be here if further help is needed.

Thanks for posting back - much appreciated.

I know at least PunkBuster is just used as an anticheat program for certain PC games like Battlefield series. Not sure about the ErrorWiz though.

Yes ErrorWiz was a "computer driver check" as it stated and my father had downloaded it for some reason thinking it was real. I had uninstalled it right away as soon as I saw that he downloaded it, but I only did an uninstall through the control panel. And as for pnkbstrb.exe it is in fact PunkBuster anti cheat for a pc game that I play. Wolfenstein to be exact. Not sure if this is bad or not :S

As for the errorwiz if I uninstalled it my way is that okay or do I have to do a thorough uninstall?

*EDIT: I did the Malware check as Corrine stated and came up with these 2 files.

Thanks again for all the help everyone!

Thank you, godster. Since I didn't spot any malware, I don't see the need to create a separate topic in the Security forum. However, I do have some advice regarding needed updates for your computer.

  1. Delete the left-over ErrorWiz folder located at C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Roaming\ErrorWiz.
  2. Update Adobe Products:
  3. Update Java to version Java SE 7u7 available from this link: http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp (Note: Beware of pre-checked extras.)
  4. Internet Explorer: Even though another browser may be your primary browser, IE9 is much more secure than IE8 (See Internet Explorer 9, Privacy and Security Enhancements). I strongly advise updating to IE9. Follow that with a check for updates as there will be security updates necessary to be installed.

You can delete DDS.scr and the two logs it created.

Recommendations:

Device Concerns:
Code:
Microsoft PS/2 Mouse	ACPI\PNP0F03\4&47E29E2&0	This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.
Make sure your mouse drivers are installed. You should obtain them from Microsoft's device drivers support site: Support for your device.

Your crashes are indicating hardware as the likely suspect. I would recommend you run some hardware checks.

  • If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

  • Prime95 Hardware Diagnostics:
    1. Download Prime95.

    2. Navigate to where you saved the Prime95 files and unzip the files.

    3. Open Prime95 from the list, and then click Run in the dialog box if it opens.

    4. Click Just Stress Testing

      click for full-size image

    5. Run Small FFTs, In-place large FFTs, and Blend for a few hours each. Report back if CPU temperatures reach dangerous levels, if the system crashes, or if hardware errors are discovered by the diagnostics.

      click for full-size image

Use the following programs to monitor the temperatures.

  • Run the boot version of Memtest86+. Let it run for at least 7-10 passes (preferably more) or until errors show up.

    click for full-size image

If you see even one error, stop the test and do the following:

Before you proceed with the following, answer these two questions: Are you still under warranty? Does your warranty allow you to open up the machine to check hardware? If you are unsure of the answers to these questions, contact your system manufacturer. WARNING: The steps that follow can void your warranty!!!
    1. Shut down and turn off your computer.
    2. Unplug all power sources to the system: unplug the power from the outlet/surge protector or PSU (then remove the battery if it is a laptop).
    3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds (for your safety and the safety of the components) to close the circuit and drain all power from components.
    4. Remove the casing (or remove the RAM panel if it is a laptop).
    5. Remove all but one memory module making sure you are grounded while doing so.
Make sure you are grounded by using proper grounding techniques, i.e. work on an anti-static workbench, anti-static desk, or an anti-static pad. Hold something metallic while touching it to the anti-static surface, or use an anti-static wristband to attach to the anti-static material while working. If you do not have an anti-static workbench, desk, or pad, you can use your computer tower/case by finding a metal hold in it, such as a drive bay.
    6. Replace the casing (or replace the RAM panel if it is a laptop) and put the remaining memory module(s) in a safe, static free environment.
    7. If the problem persists, repeat steps 1-4 and move the memory module to another slot (while staying grounded, of course).

Do this until all slots have been tested. If all slots fail, the memory module may be bad. Test with one of the remaining modules. Continue one module at a time in one slot at a time until you find a good module and good slot. Test remaining modules in the good slot, test good modules in other slots to find bad slots, etc.

Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. You may want to run both Memtest86+ and the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool overnight since they take a long time to complete (run them an hour before bed each of the next two nights and check before going to sleep that they are still running).

I also recommend you update/replace/remove the following drivers:

nVidia nForce System Management Controller (nVidia nForce chipset driver)

To remove drivers, do so by uninstalling the device or software associated with the driver. Devices can be uninstalled through device manager, and then the device itself should be physically removed from the system if possible.

3rd Party Drivers:
The following is for information purposes only. My recommendations were given above. The drivers that follow belong to software or devices that were not developed by Microsoft. Any drivers in red should be updated/replaced/removed. You can find links to the driver information and where to update the drivers in the section after the code box:
