I used to have output only in the 88 file that would give further instructions just before the list of drivers.
It said something like "Please update these older drivers...."

A recent change to the apps removed these instructions.
Now, when I insert it into the Driver Update Header box - it appears in both the 88 and the 98 files

How can I get this part of the header in only the 88 file?

Thanks in advance!

Nothing within the 88 or 98 code has changed. You sure you hadn't accidentally deleted or changed the Driver Update Header info?

The Driver Update Header info has always been in both the 88 and 98 but in a different order.

Would you like to setup the 88 to do something similar to how the template is setup with the timestamps? Maybe put in a separate section at the beginning of the 88 dealing only with older timestamps than what are found in the Old Driver After input?

No need for that! I've just gotta figure out what I did!

Now that I'm a bit more awake, I checked the older memory dumps - and found that there wasn't any difference between those from August and those from the latest version of the app. Therefore, I must've been having an Alzheimer's moment and must ask you to excuse me! (FWIW - I don't normally use that portion of the 98, so I think that that's what confused me!)

Sorry for the false alarm!!!

No problem, John. I was a little confused, so thanks for clearing things up.

If you do decide you want more/different output for the 88 or for the template, let me know.

The idea with the template is to provide as much versatility as desired to allow easy output for pasting into forum posts, so if there is some functionality missing there, I don't mind adding to it.

The only reason for the differences is that I don't feel that I can post all the info when posting at Microsoft Answers.
So I only post the older drivers from the 88 and then the BSOD Bugcheck Summary from the 98 (and I have a lot of trimming to do with the 88 output).
Plus, there's only BOLD and UNDERLINE for text formatting - so it gets a bit confusing with too much info.

Later on I'll make some suggestions about the template. It's (IMO) probably the greatest feature of the output files.

Thanks again for all of your hard work! It's making things so much easier and faster!

Agree 100% - much easier & faster... so much so, we may not even be needed in the near future!

And yes. . . . THANK YOU!

Part of the reason I created the option to save .zdn files is so people who work on multiple forums can setup their files for each forum and then save the appropriate .zdn file for those forums. Taking your case as an example: The hope is that you can create settings you like for here, Windows7Forums, etc. and save those under say a vBulletin.zdn file. Then, you can change the template and options to suit your needs at Microsoft Answers and save that as a MicrosoftAnswers.zdn file. I realize the initial setup for this may take some time, but the ability to save and load all settings provides much more flexibility for those working in multiple forums where formatting changes.

I'm not sure how useful the above is to you. There are probably still some formatting changes that need to be made to the template to make it work when vBulletin code does not work. One option is to turn on the BBCode and use the HTML viewers to copy and paste directly into Microsoft Answers with the BBCode intact for bold and underline. I'm not entirely familiar with your posts at Microsoft Answers, but I can take a look by doing a Google search and see what I can come up with to suit your style there. We can also put our heads together a bit later so the apps can work well in more arenas. :D

I realize there's no rush to doing all this, so it'll get done as time permits, but I wanted you to know I'm thinking about it. I know from others I've PM'd with that you're not the only one using the apps in places outside vBulletin. I'm hoping over the next few months to come up with apps that work well in all forums.

Holy Smokes!!!
Another outstanding function that I hadn't even thought of!
Fantastic work! Thanks!!!!

I've gotta experiment with this - and then will have some suggestions about automating the switch between the types of outputs (even if it takes 2 sets of folders).

Thanks again!

Mike does understand, John, that we would have thought of these functions by 2027 at the latest!

Awesome indeed!!!!!!!!
