Maxstar Windows Update Moderator, Security Analyst Staff member Joined Aug 16, 2015 Posts 5,275 Location The Netherlands Dec 23, 2021 #42 Hi, 1. Download SPTD for Windows 10 (64 bit) to your desktop. Right-click SPTD2inst-v213-x64.exe and select "Run as administrator". Click on the Uninstall button. If it is grayed out, SPTD is not present in your system. Restart the computer after removal/uninstalling SPTD. 2. Download AVG Clear to your desktop. Right-click avgclear.exe and select "Run as administrator". Now you see the message: It is recommended to run this tool from Windows Safe Mode. Do you want to do that? Click Yes and run this tool from there. Follow the instructions and restart the computer in normal mode. 3. Check if Minidump logging is enabled. Open Control Panel > System and Security > System. Click in the right panel on Advanced System Settings and a new window (System Poperties) will open. In the Start-up and Recovery section click on Settings. In the System Failure > Write Debugging Information section > Select the option Automatic memory dump. Click on OK and Apply and restart the computer. 4. Run Windows Update again, If you get a BSOD perform the instructions in #post 39.

This version of Windows 10 - 1803 - has not received any updates since November 2019. That is why it is a difficult problem to fix, but I do not give up so easily! Please, attach a copy of the components HIVE to look further into this issue.. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file. Please copy this file to your desktop. Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop. If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Lets first try to update the network driver. Download and install this driver. After installing the driver, please reboot the computer and then try Windows Update again and let me know the result.
