Hi, Yes, I did remove Avast and retried repair install, but still failed. I guess we are at the end of what can be done in BSOD section. Do you think you can help fixing the error preventing a repair install ?

I removed Avast in Safe Mode with their tool and did a repair install again. Same result as Oct 15

I did the repair install again. The result is : I tried a second time after a clean boot, with the same result. Only Avast was running because I could not completely prevent it from running, but I disabled all protections before running the repair install. My guess is that the component store...

Yes, I copied files from installation ISO and/or from freshly installed windows 10 on a free partition. This helped to boot, but some files are probably no longer in sync with the COMPONENTS hive. I also messed up with the WinSxs where I found some corrupted files which where supposed to be XML...

I activated Driver Verifier and rebooted. Nothing special happened. I also ran Malwarebytes antivirus, which found nothing. Here is how it began and how the workaround I used. I plugged an extra hard disk to erase it. Windows started to crash after this hard disk has been removed. I got BSOD...

Sorry, I was not clear. The secondary drive on which in installed a temporary fresh Win 10 helped to acces the files and operate offline on the broken one without booting on the slow DVD-R. The BSOD was on the broken Windows. There is no more BSOD now. I copied some files, or renamed them...
