Thanks xrobwx71. I put that on my list for investigation. I found some other information regarding registry edits. I haven't had the time to get into it. I do have work around but it is a bit clumsy.

Hi xrobwx71 I ran the sfc and the dism (as administrator) out of order that you suggested. No issues found. I restarted (not shut down and power back up), and reran those in the order you mentioned. No issues reported. I ended up disconnecting all the mapped drives in question and remapping...

Thanks xrobwx71. I can't find any newer drivers for the adapter than I already have. The more I play with this computer the more I feel there is some other issue with it. For one thing, just using the file explorer exhibits similar issues. That is, creating a folder or a file in a folder does...

I worry the upgrade may cause problems with the older laptop. I am already dealing with my father's computer that they hoodwinked him into upgrading when 10 came out.
