Revive an old Windows XP x64 System with corrupt registry and no restore points available. Stop c000021a.

Hello, what options are available to recover a Stop c000021a, if there is no Backup for the Registry at all? Is it possible to get e.g. from system.log the information what was recently changed in system hive? Also I'm wondering how come, that i cannot issue sfc.exe /scannow from the recovery...

I reran KB947821-Fix Windows6.1-KB947821-v34-x64.msu, and I have now a smaller CBS-Folder. After that, I reran SFCFix again, it's still the same. Also the CBS logs are showing no errors, but CBS.log itself contains lines with 'failed'. $ egrep -C2 --color -i 'warning|fail|error'...
