Hi I'm soo sorry I didn't reply I thought that maybe my post wasn't seen and hadn't checked the forum for a while, however not long after having this problem I used the WiFi provided by my university, and the check for updates worked. When I brought my laptop back home and checked for updates...

And this txt file is what the WindowsUpdate.log file reads after unplugging and then replugging my router (where i get no error):

Hi guys just adding two files that might be useful in diagnosing the problem, The first one is what the WindowsUpdate.log file reads after restarting the computer (where i get the error code 80072ee2):

Sorry Again, i forgot to add that if i were to restart my computer and then "check for updates" i would receive the error code 80072ee2 again. This was only solved by unplugging and replugging my router and would arise again if i restarted the computer.
