I think you are making a pretty big assumption. I guess you're an optimist and I'm a pessimist - at least when it comes to eBay. I truly hope you are right and at the very least, the product has not been maliciously modified.

This is because lifetime licences for Malwarebytes are still working on Malwarebytes 3.0, but a lot of people probably don't know that. So a customer is more likely to buy a lifetime licence for Malwarebytes 3.0 than 2.0. And I can't see...

I already suggested testing the RAM. Yes, a failing component on the motherboard could cause this. But there is no way to troubleshoot motherboards to that level because makers don't publish service guides or schematics for their boards....

I agree with that. But that eBay seller is not selling 2.0. He is selling V3.05. That suggests to me that either it is NOT V3.05, or the seller has modified the code. Neither scenario seems kosher to me and the EULA specifically says in...

The lifetime licences were discontinued with Malwarebytes 2.0, though it has been confirmed that some resellers still have them and they can be used to resell. I think you can contact legal@malwarebytes.com to make sure the reseller you're...

I still think it suspect. I note there is no such thing as a Lifetime license on the product's home site. Malwarebytes | Online Store

Correct, that shouldn't cause a conflict. It's definately possible to diagnose. It may be your video card drivers but to be sure please post a thread in our BSOD section. The experts there have much more knowledge in that area than me and...

I doubt it the old parser would have correctly picked out the full URL there anyway, w/e you do, you'll likely have to keep checking and looking for ways to improve it - then the checking/testing begins again...

No worries, Richard, I'm sure staff members are experienced enough to cope without URL parsing from time to time :)

Have you read "Clean Code" by Robert Martin? I am reading it now, and it seems to be quite a good book :0)

My computer seems to work now. Don't know what I did to fix it but it is allowing me to update Windows and Adobe Reader.
    Odd but OK.
