aswSnx.sys avast! Virtualization Driver from ALWIL Software (your Avast)

Avast can be a contributing cause of BSOD'S . Please remove and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

    http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear5.exe

    Also of note.

Old drivers in need of updating.

Thank you for your unvaluable service. I tried to localize the drivers you listed but the links - but one - lead to no information!

    Thanks.

The last 3 links aren't in the DRT yet.
They'll require some research - I hope to accomplish that today.

Have you removed !avast for troubleshooting purposes, calamitag?

If and when you do, I recommend an installation of Microsoft Security Essentials if you'd like to not go without an anti virus during its removal.

Oh, and as far as the last three drivers go.. if my research is correct:

    imgsf.sys - Image SFilter Driver

GenEncSF.sys - File System Filter Driver

    ptfd.sys - VirtualDisk Driver

    Regards,

    Patrick

GenEncSF.sys is associated with JetFlash220 (a USB flash drive with a fingerprint sensor).
Please uninstall that (the JetFlash220) software and remove the device from your system.
Feel free to install the latest, Win7 compatible version after the system has been stabilized again.

PTFD.SYS belongs to a program called VirtualDrive - but there's not much info available on that.
What do you have on your system that could contain it? Please uninstall that to see if it helps.
BUT I suspect it's associated with the JetFlash220 because of this page: http://siteadvisor.es/sites/transcen...oads/34246646/

IMGSF.sys is unknown, but I also suspect it's associated with the JetFlash220 because of this page: http://siteadvisor.es/sites/transcen...oads/34246646/

EDIT: I'll be adding these to the DRT shortly.....

Great research, usasma! Where'd you find what GenEncSF.sys was in relation to?

    Re: BSOD with 0x00000050 error!

    First I searched for GenEncSF.sys
This was the link in the 3rd result of the Google Search: http://siteadvisor.es/sites/transcen...oads/34246646/

I figured that "JetFlash220" was the name of the program's executable - so I searched for it (without the .exe in order to increase the number of results that I got).

Then I Googled "JetFlash220" and found the device (also, the "transcend" referred to at the siteavisor site is likely due to the name of the company making the JetFlash220).

The PTFD.sys was actually more difficult. But on a hunch I checked the SiteAdvisor stuff and found it in there.
IMGSF.sys was a tad bit easier because some of the results hinted that it was present when GenEncSF.sys was present.
