When you look at the update history it says installed successfully but when I look at the program and features I do not see that update installed and also when I look at the installed updates I cannot find it there either. Ran a sfc /scannow and the system readiness tool along with the sfcfix tool from sysnative and all the reports came back good. Here is the update that I am trouble with Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2 You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect. Update type: Important A security issue has been identified leading to MFC application vulnerability in DLL planting due to MFC not specifying the full path to system/localization DLLs. You can protect your computer by installing this update from Microsoft. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer. Support ends for Vista on 4/11th so no more security updates will be pushed out for this OS so it's not worth trying to fix the botched update. The best resolution here is to hide the update. Support ends for Vista on 4/11th so no more security updates will be pushed out for this OS so it's not worth trying to fix the botched update. The best resolution here is to hide the update.
