[SOLVED] [WinVistaSP2HomePremium] Win.Updates keeps offering the same update

Good forum windows updates keeps offering the same update that I installed already. When you look at the update history it says installed successfully but when I look at the program and features I do not see that update installed and also when I look at the installed updates I cannot find it there either. Ran a sfc /scannow and the system readiness tool along with the sfcfix tool from sysnative and all the reports came back good. Here is the update that I am trouble with Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2

Hi Carl -

That's a problematic update. Support ends for Vista on 4/11th so no more security updates will be pushed out for this OS so it's not worth trying to fix the botched update. The best resolution here is to hide the update. Instructions to do so are at the link below.

Thanks Brian for the prompt and correct response today I will be looking at the best way to acquire windows 7 should I perform a clean install or upgrade if possible? answers are welcome from techs or from members as well thanks again forum.

Clean install is always best unless there are programs that you need to re-install which you don't have the media anymore or for a few other reasons.
