Hello Everyone.

I am trying to upgrade a PC from Win7 Pro to Win10 Pro. This is the situation. I work IT for a small company. We have a store in Houston, I'm at the main store in Louisiana, with 2 windows 7 PCs i am trying to get windows 10 on them remotely. The error on event viewer shows error code 0x8007001F. Google led me here and I see you have had success with helping others. I hope that I also find such success.

I've followed the steps in the Forum Posting Instructions. I ran sfc /scannow and the System Update Readiness Tool. Both showed no errors. I then ran the SFCFix tool and it also showed no errors. See results below. As per instructions I am including the CBS log files.

Usually when the upgrade fails I reinstall windows 7 and everything goes through after that just fine. To do that I either need to talk someone through that process or I need to have the PC shipped to me. I would prefer to do the in place upgrade. Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Paul Maul

Hello and welcome!

Please do the following:

Step#1 - FRST Scan

1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Right-click FRST64.exe and click Run as Administrator to run it as administrator. When the tool opens, click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Please ensure you place a check mark in the Addition.txt check box at the bottom of the form before running (if not already checked).
4. Press Scan button.
5. It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should now be the desktop)
6. Please attach the log back here.
7. Another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST64.exe) will be generated Please also attach that along with the FRST.txt in your reply.

Sorry it took me awhile to get back to you. After speaking with my supervisor we decided that it would just be best I would just talk them through reinstalling win 7 on the PC and then doing the Win10 upgrade from there. I've done it a few times so I am confidant I can do that. Thank you for your time. I do appreciate it.
