Hello,

Whether a task is imported or created from scratch, the task generates this error:

I have tried deleting the task, running all updates, dism and sfc scans. The user running the task has privileges to log on as batch job.

Any ideas as to why this is happening or how it can be resolved?

All the best,
Steven Nerey

Regedit, then HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\ Is what's missing there?

Hey Corday,

That Key only has Default value. The Sub-keys ...\TaskCache\Tasks and ...\TaskCache\Tree contain the problem task with the proper Path. What else should I be checking here?

Interestingly, I first tried to launch regedit from Run, but could not. In fact, nothing will launch from Run. I opened regedit by searching the Start Menu.

All the best,
Steven

Oh! Btw, I have already tried exporting these keys and the task, deleting them, and recreating the task. This still resulted in the same error that the task no longer exists.

Hey Corday,

Thanks for letting me know. I tried those solutions and the task still cannot run.

I know it's probably a long shot, but is there anything else you can think of besides propping up a new server?

All the best,
Steven

No, the admin can't run it from this station either. Unfortunately, this task cannot be run from another station due to the associated roles being only on this server. Those roles are functioning properly, and the script that the task is supposed to run can be run manually.

Think of a possible workaround. If this function is absolutely vital to your organization, you might have to pay an outside consultant. I would not just reinstall the server or believe an upgrade to a later version would solve the problem.
