Wireless connection slow on brand new samsung 9 ativ lite ! Help?

Hello, I have just purchased a Samsung ativ 9 lite with windows 8 64-bit. The only problem is my wireless internet connection which is not optimal. I have a 10mbit line which works perfectly with my old laptop and my girlfriends mac. When surfing on my new samsung the browsing is slower than normal and also downloading is about 50% of the average speed. I have tried to test my speed at speedtest.net and it only shows 1-6mbit download and upload (very unstable and varies each time) . when I test it with a network cable connected directly in the computer it works fine and stable at 10mbit (browsing is also stable). As soon as i connect through the wifi its unstable again and slow.

I have tried restarting the router several times (the router is not the problem as wifi on other laptops and smartphones works fine)
I have tried with network cable (TP) instead of wifi which works fine, indicating that it is the wifi not background programs like norton that is using bandwith (i have also uninstalled norton and no background programs or apps are using bandwith)
I have updated all windows updates ...

When I check the status of my wifi connection it says that the speed is only 50Mbps.. is this maybe this is the reason?

I've seen this caused by both hardware and software problems. I really hope this is software based, for your sake! :)
