[WinVistaSP2HomePremium x86] sfcfix fails

My system is Windows Vista Home Premium and got mauled by some kind of virus. I managed to get most things fixed but SFC returned an error that some files could not be fixed. A search with Google turned up your site and I tried the SFCFIX utility.

It failed with an error that it could not find msvcp100.dll Further search located a site which has a library of all current DLLs. I downloaded a version for Vista 32-bit. Attempting to register it I got a message that it wasn't compatible.



So, what can I do next?

It's best not to grab dll files from unknown sources. I would recommend going directly to the owner of that application extension: Microsoft. Click the link below for the installation files you need for msvcp100.dll

Thanks. That worked!! The corruption found by SFC was unimportant and was not necessary to be fixed by SFXFIX.
