Hi Guys,
I've exhausted all other avenues and I'm now reaching out for help! My domain controller in my home lab won't update and every attempt to resolve the issues fails. I can't run SFC and also DISM won't work to repair the install either.
Running SFC /scannow errors with: "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation"
When I run dism in any form I get errors like:
"Error: 582 An illegal character was encountered. For a multi-byte character set this includes a lead byte without a succeeding trail byte. For the Unicode character set this includes the characters 0xFFFF and 0xFFFE"
Similar errors appear in logs when running Windows Updates saying that updates failed because of the illegal character issues.
SFCFix.exe doesn't even complete because of error 582 so there's no sfcfix log to upload.
Attached are my DISM and CBS folders. PLEASE Help! Thanks!
