Hi all of you great people,

I have a major problem on my server2012. Windows Update is taking 50% CPU of my windowserver2012. Everything is very slow.

- It's automatically opening the service Wuaserv and it keeps going on, it does not stop. I have to kill it manually. I can't kill the process every half an hour.
- I went to services.msc and disable Background Intelligence, disable Windows Update. But it is still automatically starting the service.
- I checked scheduled tasks, nothing in there
- I did remove the distribution folder
- I did reboot the server2012 many times
- I did run sfc /scannow

Anyone that can help me fix this problem for once and for all. I am out of luck anymore. Thank you!

Regards

Hi and welcome to Sysnative. Sorry for the delay. Do you still need assistance? So we are meeting expectations I also wanted to let you know that I will be on vacation until May 10th. There are other helpers that may pick up the this thread but if they don't you can expect a response on the 10th or 11th at the latest.

Please let me know however if you still need assistance and I'll check back in at that time.

Thank you.

Hi BrianDrab, thanks for the message.

When I go to windows update and I change the option from "Don't check for updates" to "check for updates". There is no CPU hog anymore. When I change it to "Don't check for updates". It starts again. Weird right?!
