(Hello, first excuse because my English is not too good. I am from Spain)
I have Windows7 32bit and I can't install updates. The error is 80070490. I used the Windows Help unsuccessful.

I can not attach the CBS.zip Perhaps it is too large. The CBS.log is 149Mb :huh:

Please run the following programme:

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) Scan

  • Download and run the latest version of SURT.
  • Click Yes when prompted to install. Installation can take ~15 minutes. Please do not cancel.
  • Upon completion (when Installation Complete appears), copy the contents of the SURT log found atC:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log and paste in your next reply.
  • Note: If the file is too large to attach, upload to a service such as Dropbox, One Drive or SendSpace and provide a direct download link in your next reply.

  • Press the Windows Key
    pdKOQKY.png
    + r on your keyboard at the same time. Type Notepad and click OK.
  • Copy the three bold lines below and paste into the Notepad document:

    sfc /scannow
    timeout /t 120 /nobreak
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\CBS.txt"
    del %0

  • Click Format. Ensure Wordwrap is unchecked.
  • Click File, Save As and name the file sfcscannow.bat.
  • Select All Files as the Save as type. Save the file to your Desktop.
  • Locate sfcscannow.bat

    on your Desktop. Right-click the file and click
    AVOiBNU.jpg
    Run as administrator.
  • Upon completion, a file (CBS.txt) will be created on your Desktop. Attach this file in your next reply.

Please download the installer for KB3042058 and save the file to your Desktop. Run the installer, and follow the prompts. If installation of the update fails, please provide the following logs in your next reply:
  • C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log
  • C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

Uninstall Update

  • Click the Windows Start

    button. Type CMD in the search bar, right-click CMD and click
    AVOiBNU.jpg
    Run as administrator.
  • Copy and paste (right-click the Window + Paste) the following into the Command Prompt. Press Enter on your keyboard.

    wusa /uninstall /KB:3042058

  • A Windows Update Standalone Installer window will appear and search for the update. You will either receive a message that states the update is not installed, or be prompted to uninstall the update. If prompted, please do so.
  • Let me know the result of the command.

Using the same link, attempt manual installation of KB3042058 after doing the above.

The message of de cmd: wusa /uninstall /KB:3042058 is: "la actualización KB3042058 no está instalada en el equipo": ("KB3042058 update is not installed on your computer").
When I try to manually install the update KB3042058 the result is a windows that says: the following updates were not installed: Security Update for Windows (KB3042058)

  • Click Programs, and under Programs and Features, click Turn Windows features on and off.
  • Wait for the window to populate.
  • Leave this window open whilst you do the following:

  • Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (x32) and save the file to your Desktop.
  • Right-Click FRST.exe and select
    AVOiBNU.jpg
    Run as administrator to run the programme.
  • Copy and paste the following text into the Search: textbox:

    Package_71_for_KB3045999~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~6.1.1.1

  • Click on the Search Registry button.
  • Upon completion, a log (Search.txt) will open.
  • Copy the contents of the log and paste in your next reply.
