As the title suggests I'm having an issue with a Vista machine which seems to install updates ok but on the next check it offers the same updates over again. I've run the usual sfc and update readiness tool as well as update repair fixit from MS.

I've uploaded the CheckSUR file and as you can see it found a good number of issues but I could do with some help to repair these issues.

Thanks in advance.

Export registry as hive

  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
button and in the search box, type regedit
  2. When you see regedit on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When regedit opens, using the left pane, navigate to the following registry key and select it by clicking on it once.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing

  4. Once selected, click File > Export....
  5. Change the Save as type: to Registry Hive Files (*.*)
  6. Name this file ComponentBasedServicing (with no file extension) and save it to your Desktop.
Right click on the ComponentBasedServicing file on your Desktop and choose Send To->Compressed (zipped) Folder
Upload the zip to a file sharing service such as OneDrive, DropBox, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.
