Built a new machine with AMD A8-7600, Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3HP motherboard, 16GB DDR3-1600, SSD 250GB. Disk install of Windows 7 Home Edition on SSD was clean and machine runs perfect. Was able to download some updates but new updating has come to a halt. I was able to manually download and then install KB947821 (Hotfix), KB3083710, and KB3102810. Running WUTS, I got the message "Windows Update Error 0x80070057 (2016-05-21-t_33_00A)" and "Cryptographic Service Components not registered", all other issues were fixed. Have now tried a variety of solutions including "sfc /scannow" which gave the message "No integrity violations" and the cbs.zip is attached. Ran Microsoft EasyFix50202.msi with restart.....Picked one downloaded update and it failed to install with message "failed code 800B0100. My ISP is Cox HS but I even changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 with no success. Manually stopped and started both BITS and wuauserv with no solution. I'm currently running Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebytes, and have GWX Control active. Could certainly use some expert advice as I don't want to migrate to Windows 10 at this time. If you are still in need of assistance, please do the following. Step#1 - System Update Readiness Tool (SUR) 1. Download and run the following file. 2. When it asks you if you wish to install, please answer yes. Note: It could take 15 minutes or more to run. Please don't cancel. 3. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running. 4. Please attach the log from the following location. C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.
