Hi Sysnative Team!

I've been struggling with this issue for a few weeks now, I feel like I have tried every fix on the internet but these updates are still failing to install. The updates usually fail after a few minutes once the install process has started.

This is a VM running Server 2019 Standard. It has Remote Desktop Session Host roles installed.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Here's the first fix, it's too lare to attach so I've uploaded it here: SFCFix.zip

Step 1. Download

SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Thanks Maxstar!

Unfortunately the DISM command failed at 80.3 percent.

I have attached the new CBS Log folder

Can you please check if you have another server for the following component folder? If so please provide a copy of it, otherwise I'll need to rebuild a Server 2019 VM for the last file
Code:
C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-dynamic-image_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.17763.737_none_b516408bbaf46523\WindowsDefenderApplicationGuard.wim

Here's the next fix including the above component, courtesy @Jonathan21 for sharing a copy of it...

Thanks for the quick response!

I tried again but it's still failing at the 80.3 percent mark :(

I've attached the new files

Hi Maxstar.

Thank you! This last fix actually allowed the DISM command to get to 100 percent.

I downloaded the updates and tried again, They didn't fail this time but the system was stuck on "Restarting" for over 12 hours while trying to install the updates. I ended up having to force a reset.

I haven't tried installing the updates again but I will give it another go tonight.

Hi,

Sometimes it may take some time to complete especially when the update process performs a cleanup task during the last reboot.
