I downloaded SCFFix and ran it on the laptop. It says it fixed the corruptions but the Summary also says that Some corruptions could not be fixed automatically and to see advice from you guys. Is there additional steps that need to be taken?

Thanks, in advance for your assistance! This is the bosses laptop and the Windows update run forever keeping him for working.

Hi Aura,

Attached you will find the requested log file. FYI.. I started the installation about 5:30pm and it ran until approx 3:30am this morning. A bit longer than 15-20 minutes. :huh:

I appreciate all your assistance in getting this issue figured out!
Thanks,
Stan

This is why it took so long to run:
Code:
Seconds executed: 36434
 Found 17663 errors
 Fixed 9526 errors
  CSI Manifest Missing Total count: 6413
  Fixed: CSI Manifest Missing. Total count: 5806
  CSI Located Replacement: Invalid (Catalog) Total count: 28
  CSI Payload File Missing Total count: 11250
  Fixed: CSI Payload File Missing. Total count: 3720
To be honest, this is way too big for me to work on a fix. Although it's possible, it would take me way too long. Do you have your Windows installation media?

You could use that .iso (mount it) to launch a repair install.

GSmartControl
Follow the instructions below to test your hard drive health with GSmartControl:
  • Download GSmartControl and save it on your Desktop;
  • Extract the content of the GSmartControl .zip archive and execute gsmartcontrol.exe;
  • Identify your drive in the list, and double-click on it to bring up it's window (usually you'll find your drive by it's size or it's brand name);
  • Go in the Perform Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete);
  • Once the test is over, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the window. Please copy and paste these results in your next reply;
  • Also, go in the Attributes tab and if you have any entries highlighted in red or pink, copy and paste their name in your next reply (or take a screenshot of the GSmartControl window and attach it in your next reply);

Thanks, Aura. I will do this test this evening after the laptop is free and will post the results in the morning.

Good morning, Aura.

I let the MEMTest run all night and this morning it showed no errors.

Stan

Since your hard drive and RAM aren't failing, you can now run the Repair Install using the tutorial I linked a few posts back :)
