I really need help with my corrupted windows update.

SFC
I've run the following command in command promt Admin:
sfc /scannow

This is what it tells me:
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

DISM

I then did the following command in command prompt :
Dism /Online / Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

This is the result:
Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.17763.1

Image Version: 10.0.17763.292

[===========================88.1%=================== ]
Error: 193

%1 is not a valid Win32 application.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log

SFCFix
I've tried using SFCFix version 3.0.1.0 by nemiro, but it crashes:
Start time: 2019-02-13 18:26:01.947
Microsoft Windows 10 Build 17763 - amd64
Not using a script file.

SFCFix version 3.0.1.0 by niemiro has encountered an unhandled exception.

Hello and welcome!

Due to the precise nature of your corruption, you will receive help from a user named Bruce1270. He's one of our senior trainees here who's in his final phase of his studies and needs to gain some real world experience in specific areas of Windows Update. This means that he'll be assisting you, but that I will first need to double check and approve his fixes before he posts them to you. If anything this is a good thing for you because it means that you've got at least two of us watching over your thread, but it will unfortunately add a slight delay between each reply. I hope that you understand and can accept the need for us to train up new members in this way in order to carry on doing what we do here, however, if for any reason you object to this setup, I will happily take on your thread myself.

Thank you very much for your understanding. We'll be with you very shortly.

I'm fine with this setup. I am still able to use my computer just fine, I just need the windows update to work because it is impeding some software updates.

Hi CromboJ

Welcome to Sysnative. My name is Bruce1270 and I shall be assisting you.

Please do the following.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

 1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
 3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
 5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
 6. SFCFix will now process the script.
 7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
 8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

It looks like it has been fixed. Windows update notified me to update later in the day.
I'm surprised that's all it took. I've been looking around this website reading articles and many of them required way more entries then mine.
Like this one Error 80073712: Havent been able to install most updates for almost 2 years

Thank you very much for fixing my issue, I was really worried. I really appreciate sites like this and I hope it continues. And this is free?

You don't have to respond to the section below:
I'm in a computer major and am studying computer science. I'm just curious, could you tell what was wrong with in way I could analyze it?
I really enjoy learning about computers.

Hi CromboJ

Glad we could help and resolve your issue. And yes, it's free.:)

You had some payload files which were corrupt which the system could not replace by itself. It can depend on the nature of the corruption how indepth the fixes will require to be.

Thanks.
