Hello, I have a HP pavillion dv6-2155 dx. the hard drive crashed and I replaced it. Ordered the recovery disk from hp, install and now I can't get windows update to work. I get the following message every time I attempt to do so" Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your computer". I restarted several times. I also reached out to HP without success. I ran a sfc and recieved a message the my WRP files are corrupt. Any help on this is appreiciated.

Run services.

Click Start then click run and type services.msc

Check to see if "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" "Workstation" and "Windows Update" are all running under the status column.

If they are not running, right click them, select properties, and change startup type to automatic, click start then apply and click ok.

Reboot after all of the above, and let me know what happens...
